Does the 116mm GXR47-76 Super Core meet the Ultra Street inducer rule?

Garrett lists this part, 953234-5001S, for the Ultra Street drag race class with its 76.6mm compressor inducer rule, and the GXR47-76 Super Core inducer measures 76.6mm. Garrett asks buyers to verify the class rules before purchasing, since inducer limits and measuring methods can be revised.

What is the difference between the 116mm and 123mm GXR47-76?

The compressor exducer. Both share the 76.6mm inducer, the 93mm by 88mm turbine and the 1700 horsepower rating, but this core uses a 116mm exducer and is the one Garrett names for Ultra Street. Garrett publishes a separate compressor map for each, which is the right way to compare them for a given boost target.

How much horsepower will the GXR47-76 support?

Garrett rates it up to 1700 horsepower on engines from 2.5L to 10.0L, with 500 horsepower as the bottom of its published range. The figure comes from compressor choke flow and represents potential flywheel horsepower rather than a measured result on any specific engine.

Which turbine housings fit the GXR47 frame?

Garrett lists four G47 housings: 0.96, 1.08, 1.23 and 1.39 A/R, each with a T6 inlet, a V-band outlet and an external wastegate layout. The manifold therefore needs a T6 flange and a wastegate port. Lower A/R values suit quicker spool, and higher values suit flow at high rpm.

What is the shaft speed limit?

Garrett publishes 102,500 rpm as the maximum allowable turbocharger speed for the GXR47-76. Beyond that, operation is at the risk of the owner and can cause damage and premature failure. The flange-style port takes a speed sensor so the tuner can log shaft speed, and the Garrett kit is sold separately.

Description

Garrett G-XRace GXR47-76 Super Core, 116mm Exducer, Ultra Street

Garrett’s GXR47-76 Super Core with the 116mm exducer is the Ultra Street version, built around that class’s 76.6mm compressor inducer rule. The XBoost wheel measures 76.6mm by 116mm and works against a 93mm by 88mm turbine, which Garrett codes 7688. Garrett rates it up to 1700 horsepower, with a published range of 500 to 1700 on engines from 2.5L to 10.0L, and quotes 12 percent more compressor flow than the G47-1550. An Ultra Street racer should start here. Outside that class, the 123mm-exducer GXR47-76 shares the inducer and the rating and is the alternative to compare on the maps.

Construction

The GXR47 frame uses a one-piece aluminum center housing and backplate to cut weight, and a flange-style port accepts a speed sensor. Garrett describes the design as patented and lists four G47 turbine housings with a T6 inlet and V-band outlet, from 0.96 to 1.39 A/R.

Features

76.6mm compressor inducer for the Ultra Street class rule
116mm exducer XBoost compressor wheel
One-piece aluminum center housing and backplate
Flange-style speed sensor port

Specifications

Garrett turbo reference: 7688
Compressor inducer and exducer: 76.6mm and 116mm
Turbine inducer and exducer: 93mm and 88mm
Maximum turbocharger speed: 102,500 rpm
Horsepower rating: Up to 1700 (Garrett rating)

Applications

The GXR47-76 Super Core is not vehicle specific. Garrett sizes it by engine and output:

Engine displacement: 2.5L to 10.0L
Power range: 500 to 1700 horsepower (Garrett rating)
Garrett turbine kits: G47 0.96, 1.08, 1.23 and 1.39 A/R, T6 inlet, V-band outlet, external wastegate

Notes

The turbine housing is not included; Garrett’s matching G47 turbine housing kits are sold separately
An external wastegate is required, because every turbine housing Garrett lists for this core is free float
The Garrett speed sensor kit is sold separately
Garrett states that running above 102,500 rpm is at the owner’s risk and can result in damage and premature failure
Garrett asks buyers to verify class rules before purchasing a core for an inducer-limited class
Garrett also builds the GXR47-76 with a 123mm compressor exducer

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
