Does the GXR45-67 Super Core have a map groove?

No. The standard GXR45-67 Super Core is for classes with no map groove rule. For classes that require a 0.25 inch map groove, such as PanAm, Garrett sells an optional compressor housing, part 934809-0009, which replaces the housing supplied on this core.

How much flow does it add over a G45?

Garrett quotes 29 percent more compressor flow for the GXR45-67 than for the G45-1125, with a higher pressure ratio capability and better efficiency at high flow. In practice that means more airflow from the same inducer limit, which is the point of the core in an inducer-capped class.

What horsepower rating applies?

Garrett lists 725 to 1475 horsepower on engines from 2.0L to 8.0L for the GXR45-67. The figure is calculated from the choke flow of the compressor map and represents potential flywheel horsepower, so the combination around the turbocharger decides the final number.

Which turbine housings fit the GXR45 frame?

Garrett lists eight G45 free-float kits: 1.01, 1.15, 1.28 and 1.44 A/R, each in V-band inlet and divided T4 inlet form with a V-band outlet. Smaller A/R choices help a smaller engine spool, and the 1.44 suits a big-displacement engine running high rpm.

Is a speed sensor needed on this core?

Garrett recommends one. The maximum allowable turbocharger speed is 109,000 rpm, and a sensor fitted to the compressor housing lets the tuner see shaft speed and stay below it. The Garrett speed sensor kit is sold separately from the core.

Description

Garrett G-XRace GXR45-67 Super Core, 67.9mm Inducer, 82mm Turbine

Garrett’s GXR45-67 Super Core combines a 67.9mm inducer, 102mm exducer XBoost compressor with the larger G45 turbine, an 89mm inducer and 82mm exducer wheel. Garrett quotes 29 percent more compressor flow than the G45-1125 and rates the core at 725 to 1475 horsepower on 2.0L to 8.0L engines. The standard compressor housing has no map groove, for classes without a groove rule, and Garrett offers a separate 0.25 inch map groove housing for classes such as PanAm. A racer with a 67.9mm inducer cap and a large engine gets the bigger turbine here that a GXR42 cannot offer.

Features

67.9mm compressor inducer with a 102mm exducer
XBoost compressor with 29 percent more flow than the G45-1125
Lightweight aluminum backplate
Uses the same twin-scroll T4 and V-band turbine housings as the G45

Specifications

Compressor inducer and exducer: 67.9mm and 102mm
Compressor trim and housing A/R: 44 and 0.85
Turbine inducer and exducer: 89mm and 82mm
Turbine trim: 84
Maximum turbocharger speed: 109,000 rpm

Applications

The GXR45-67 Super Core is not vehicle specific. Garrett sizes it by engine and output:

Engine displacement: 2.0L to 8.0L
Power range: 725 to 1475 horsepower (Garrett rating)
Garrett turbine kits: G45 1.01, 1.15, 1.28 and 1.44 A/R, V-band or divided T4 inlet, V-band outlet, free float

Notes

The turbine housing is not included; Garrett’s matching G45 turbine housing kits are sold separately
An external wastegate is required, because every turbine housing Garrett lists for this core is free float
The Garrett speed sensor kit is sold separately
Garrett states that running above 109,000 rpm is at the owner’s risk and can result in damage and premature failure
For classes with a 0.25 inch map groove rule, Garrett offers an optional GXR45-67 compressor housing
Garrett asks buyers to verify class rules before purchasing a core for an inducer-limited class

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
