Fi EXHAUST’s Downpipes for McLaren 600LT work on the section where the factory system costs the M838T the most, the short run between the twin turbochargers and the rear of the car. Fi builds both in T304 stainless steel: a Sport version on 200 cell sport catalysts, civil enough for road miles, and a Race version on Fi’s Ultra High Flow design. The 600LT is the sharpest of McLaren’s Sports Series cars, and this is where that intent is easiest to hear.

Construction

The Downpipes for McLaren 600LT replace the factory downpipe section on the M838T rather than adapting a universal pipe to fit. The Sport version carries 200 cell sport catalysts inside the pipe itself, so the catalyst hardware stays where McLaren put it. Fi EXHAUST, short for Frequency Intelligent Exhaust, was founded in Taipei, Taiwan in February 2012 and builds valvetronic exhaust systems for supercars, from Lamborghini and Ferrari to McLaren, Porsche and BMW M. The company brought what it describes as the first valvetronic exhaust system to market in May 2014, added an OBD2 Bluetooth valve remote a month later, and moved its valve hardware from vacuum to electronic actuation in 2017.
