The Fabspeed Valvetronic X-Pipe Exhaust System for the 718 4.0L cars rejuvenates the dormant Porsche PSE exhaust, imbuing it with a truly exotic sports car sound while retaining the functionality of PSE (Porsche sport exhaust). The design journey commenced with the comprehensive 3D scanning of the entire exhaust system using our CREAFORM 700 Handscan, enabling the creation of a complete Solidworks 3D model adhering to OEM standards. Following multiple iterations for sound and dyno testing, we opted for our CAD flow engineered investment cast x-pipe and 2.5″ (63.5mm) tubing to deliver optimal power and an exotic sports car sound. Employing Helical Limited exhaust valves, the same ISO 9001 certified valves used by Ferrari, McLaren, and Porsche on their GT cars, ensures top-notch quality and performance. The robust flanges, crafted from thick 304 stainless steel, are CAD-designed to perfectly match OEM flanges and facilitate the reuse of factory metal gaskets.

Sound

• With PSE off, our Valvetronic exhaust offers a subtle increase in volume. Engaging PSE and opening the valves transforms the 4.0L’s exhaust note into a truly exotic sound with a notable volume increase, turning heads as you soar past. For those seeking to reduce exhaust noise in compliance with race track regulations, the optional turn down tips effectively cut 3-6db of exhaust SPL.

Power

• The system generates power throughout the entire RPM band. On our DynoJet, we observed a gain of +15whp and 11ft/lbs of torque at 7,600rpm, with a substantial dose of torque at 2,400rpm, boasting a gain of +28ft/lbs of torque and +13whp. This low-end torque is palpable around town, with horsepower that continues all the way up to redline.

Notes

• All Fabspeed products are expected to ship within one week of order, though timelines are often much quicker
• On the 718 GT4 and Spyder, Porsche used early model exhaust brackets up until sometime in February 2020 build date. After the February 2020 build date Porsche switched to the late model exhaust brackets. Before purchasing you must check to see if your 718 GT4 / Spyder has the early or late style exhaust brackets. Please see the example photos.
