Does the Fabspeed Valvetronic Maxflo Exhaust System fit every C8?

No. It fits the 6.2L LT2 C8 Corvette Stingray from 2020 onward that is equipped with the factory NPP valved exhaust, so confirm your car has the NPP performance exhaust before ordering. The Z06 uses the 5.5L LT6 and a different exhaust layout, so it is not covered. Choose your tip finish when you add the exhaust to the cart.

How do the two valve modes work?

The system switches between two modes at the press of a button. With the valves closed it stays quiet for city and neighborhood driving; with them open it turns loud and aggressive. Two included AFM simulator plugs let the car hold eight-cylinder mode so the valves work cleanly, and Fabspeed recommends running V8 mode to rule out a check engine light.

Does the Valvetronic Maxflo add power?

Yes, modestly. Against the factory NPP exhaust, Fabspeed measured up to 11.5 horsepower and 10 lb-ft at the peak with the valves closed, with curve gains up to 14 horsepower and 15 lb-ft, and about 4 wheel horsepower and 6 lb-ft with the valves open. It is built mainly for sound and the 20-pound weight saving; pair it with the Fabspeed Sport Cats and Long Tube Sport Headers for larger gains.

What is the Fabspeed Valvetronic Maxflo Exhaust System made from?

It is built from 3.0-inch T304L and 321 stainless steel tubing with flexible bellows, every bend CNC mandrel-formed and the assembly welded and finished by hand. Amorphous silica fiber heat shielding wrapped in 321 stainless manages heat at the rear of the car, and the complete system weighs 20 pounds less than the factory equipment.

Is it hard to install?

It bolts on plug-and-play as a direct replacement for the factory system, with no cutting or welding required, and the two AFM simulator plugs are included. Because the C8 is mid-engine, access is tighter than on a front-engine car, so many owners have it fitted by an experienced exhaust shop. No tuning is required for the exhaust itself.

Is this exhaust street legal?

It mounts behind the factory emissions hardware, which stays in place, so it does not alter the car's catalytic converters or emissions equipment. It is a sound and weight upgrade, and the closed-valve mode keeps things quiet for daily use. Check your local noise and sound-level rules before installing, since those vary by area.

Description

Fabspeed Valvetronic Maxflo Exhaust System for C8 Chevrolet Corvette

The system was designed to offer two completely enthralling personalities, interchangeable at the user’s discretion with the simple click of a button. Users can choose to unleash an aggressive sound with noticeable power gains when laying on the throttle, or opt for a more restrained sound when cruising through the city or neighborhood by closing the valves. The X-Pipe design by Fabspeed adds a hint of exotic mid-engine tone while accentuating the loping sound characteristic of the American V8.

Power

The factory valved exhaust on the C8 demonstrates satisfactory flow when the valves are open, yet it significantly restricts exhaust flow when the valves are closed. In a comparison between the NPP exhaust with valves open and the Valvetronic Maxflo Exhaust also with valves open, peak gains of 4whp and 6ft/lbs of torque were observed. Furthermore, when comparing both systems with valves closed, as measured at the wheels, there were peak gains of 11.5hp and 10ft/lbs of torque, along with curve gains of up to 14hp and 15ft/lbs of torque.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
