Fabspeed Supersport X-Pipe Valvetronic Exhaust System for BMW G8X M3 / M4

Achieving an aggressive and sharp BMW sound without engine warnings or in-cabin drone, this exhaust transforms the M3 and M4 into true sports cars, endowed with an authentic sound profile. It enhances the turbo spool noise upon throttle release, and with vigorous acceleration, the gritty, iconic BMW straight-six sound fills the cabin. This modification elevates the driving experience by adding more pops and bangs on downshifts and emitting a throaty rumble at idle.

Power

Tested on an in-house DynoJet, the system has demonstrated maximum gains of 25ft/lbs of torque at 3,300rpm and 22whp at 5,500rpm, equivalent to 26 crank horsepower. The dyno graph evidences that these power enhancements are distributed evenly across the entire power band.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Fabspeed G8X Valvetronic Exhaust fit the BMW M2? No. It is built for the G80 BMW M3 and G82 M4 with the 3.0L twin-turbo S58 engine, from 2021 onward. The G87 BMW M2 uses its own Fabspeed system, so order the version that matches your car. This one fits every S58 M3 and M4 variant, including Competition models and both xDrive and rear-wheel-drive cars.
What is included, and what does the X-pipe do? The system includes the valved rear exhaust and an intermediate X-pipe, so it is a complete rear-section upgrade. It uses two investment-cast X sections that balance exhaust pulses between the banks for stronger scavenging, which improves flow and sharpens the S58’s straight-six voice. You choose your tip finish when you order.
How do the valves and sound work? The system uses aerospace-grade Helical Limited valves that retain the factory valve control, so the car still switches between a civil closed setting and an aggressive open one. Open, it turns the S58 gritty and throaty, amplifying turbo spool on throttle release and adding pops and bangs on downshifts, and Fabspeed tuned it to avoid in-cabin drone.
How much power does it add? On Fabspeed’s in-house DynoJet the system added 22 wheel horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 25 lb-ft at 3,300 rpm, about 26 horsepower at the crank, with the gains spread across the power band. It also drops 8 pounds versus the factory system, so the S58 both pulls and responds harder.
Is it hard to install, and does it require cutting? The Helical valves are plug-and-play and retain the factory valve control, but installation does require minor trimming at the factory exhaust breakpoint, using the OEM dimple locations as a guide. Because of that and the car’s packaging, most owners have it fitted by an experienced exhaust shop rather than installing it at home.
Is it street legal? It mounts behind the factory emissions hardware, which stays in place, so it does not alter the car’s catalytic converters or emissions equipment. With the valves closed it is civil and drone-free for daily driving. Check your local noise and sound-level rules before installing, since those vary by area.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance.
