Do the Fabspeed Sport Cats fit the McLaren 765LT coupe and Spider?

Yes. The Fabspeed Sport Cats fit 2020 to 2022 McLaren 765LT models, both the coupe and the Spider, all built on the 4.0L twin-turbo V8. They are a direct bolt-on replacement for the Factory Equipment and include the thermal blankets. Confirm your model year with Fabspeed or your installer if you are unsure.

What are they, and what cell count do they use?

They are HJS high-flow catalysts imported from Germany, built to a tri-metallic 200-cell (200 CPSI) specification and homologated by HJS to EURO 6. Two catalysts make up the system, fed by 5.25-inch inlet pipes and CNC mandrel-bent tubing sized for high flow. HJS is one of the most respected catalyst makers in motorsport, which is why Fabspeed specifies them here.

How much do they change sound and performance?

A lot. Flow measures 91 to 93 percent of a straight pipe, so the 765LT gains a harder, more exotic hypercar note along with faster turbo spool and sharper transient response. The system also removes about 6 lbs compared to the factory parts. Horsepower varies by car and conditions, so Fabspeed lists gains as dyno-dependent rather than a fixed number.

Will they trigger a check engine light?

No. Because the Fabspeed Sport Cats retain high-flow catalytic hardware, they run without a check engine light and need no separate tune. That is the main practical difference from a full competition link-pipe setup, which can illuminate a light on its own. The sport cats keep the car's emissions monitoring satisfied while still opening up flow and sound.

Are they a bolt-on installation?

Yes. The Sport Cats bolt directly in place of the Factory Equipment, with no cutting or welding, and the included thermal blankets are fitted during installation. Professional installation is recommended given the value of the car and the heat-shielding involved. No ECU tune is required for the cats on their own.

Are the Fabspeed Sport Cats street legal and CARB approved?

No. While the HJS catalysts are EURO 6 homologated in Europe, these Sport Cats are not CARB approved and are not for sale in California or other states that require CARB compliance, and their EPA anti-tampering status has not been assessed. Check your local regulations before purchase, since emissions rules vary by state and country.

Description

Fabspeed Sport Cats for McLaren 765LT

The Fabspeed Sport Cats for the McLaren 765LT give McLaren’s most extreme Longtail a freer-flowing, more thrilling exhaust while keeping catalytic hardware in the system. At their core are HJS high-flow 200-cell catalysts, German-made, tri-metallic, and EURO 6 homologated, plumbed into 5.25-inch inlet pipes that step down through CNC mandrel-bent tubing for flow measured at 91 to 93 percent of a straight pipe. The result is a harder, more exotic hypercar voice, faster turbo spool and transient response, and about 6 lbs (2.7 kg) less weight than the Factory Equipment, all while running clean with no check engine light. Each catalyst is wrapped in a 2200-degree military-spec thermal blanket, and the system is backed by the Fabspeed Lifetime Warranty, engineering worthy of a car built in strictly limited numbers.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. Please review the full Terms & Conditions here.

BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
