Do the Fabspeed Sport Cat Downpipes fit the E71 X6M?

Yes. The Fabspeed Sport Cat Downpipes fit the E71 X6M built from 2010 to 2012 with the 4.4L S63 twin-turbo V8. They are a direct bolt-on at the turbo section. Fabspeed builds this downpipe for several N63 and S63 vehicles, and this listing covers the E71 X6M application.

What do the Sport Cat Downpipes change, power or sound?

Mostly flow and response. The 200-cell HJS cores open up the turbo section for sharper throttle response and more power potential, especially with a supporting tune, while keeping catalytic function in the pipe. The note gets a little cleaner and fuller, but these are a flow-first upgrade rather than a loud race part, so expect a mild change in sound.

Will these downpipes trigger a check engine light?

A check engine light can occur, and it is typically cleared with an ECU tune. Because these are high-flow downpipes, the S63's sensors may read the freer-flowing section and set a code on some vehicles. A supporting tune both clears the light and unlocks more of the gains, which is how most owners run them.

What are the Fabspeed Sport Cat Downpipes made from?

They are built from T304L stainless steel with CNC-machined flanges and laser-cut brackets, and each downpipe houses a genuine 200-cell HJS high-flow core. HJS is a German catalyst maker trusted for cells that flow freely while keeping emissions function in the pipe, and T304L stainless stands up to the heat of a hard-run twin-turbo V8.

Are the Sport Cat Downpipes street legal?

Fabspeed lists them as not CARB or EPA certified and intended for closed-course and off-road use, and they are not for sale in California. On a street vehicle they can set a check engine light until a tune is applied. Check your local emissions rules before buying, since requirements vary by state.

Is installation a bolt-on job?

Yes. The Sport Cat Downpipes are a direct bolt-on replacement at the S63's turbo section. No cutting or fabrication is needed, though the location makes this a more involved job than a simple exhaust swap, so many owners have it installed by a shop.

Description

Fabspeed Sport Cat Downpipes for E71 BMW X6M

Fabspeed Sport Cat Downpipes for the E71 BMW X6M open up the turbo section of the S63 twin-turbo V8 with high-flow 200-cell HJS catalysts, trading the restriction of the factory section for freer flow, sharper throttle response, and a cleaner, slightly fuller note in comparison to the Factory Equipment. These are a flow-first upgrade built around genuine German HJS high-flow cores, so they open up the exhaust while keeping catalytic function in the pipe. Built from T304L stainless steel with CNC-machined flanges and laser-cut brackets, they are a direct bolt-on and are made in-house at Fabspeed in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania. They carry Fabspeed’s lifetime warranty and are built for closed-course competition and off-road use.

Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
