Are these pipes street legal?

No. These race pipes are intended strictly for closed-course competition and off-road use, never for public roads. They are not CARB-certified or EPA-certified, so they are not legal for street use in the United States. Choose them only for a track or race car where emissions certification is not required.

Which version do I need, the 2.7 or the 5.2?

It depends on your car's engine management. Choose the 2.7 Motronic version for 1994-1995 F355 models and the 5.2 Motronic version for 1996-1999 models. The split follows the F355's mid-production switch in engine management, so matching your year to the correct version ensures the right fit and sensor setup.

Will they trigger a check engine light?

On OBD2 cars, yes, they can. The 1996-1999 F355 models run OBD2 and may show a check engine light after installation; the earlier 1994-1995 cars predate OBD2. The light does not affect how the pipes perform, and since these are track-and-race parts, many owners run them on a dedicated car where it is not a concern.

How do they change the sound?

Dramatically. The F355's flat-plane V8 already has an exotic character, and freeing up the restrictive factory secondary section brings it much closer to an early-2000s Ferrari F1 car, with a significant increase in volume and a harder, more metallic edge. These pipes are built for sound as much as flow, so expect a serious step up over stock.

Are they a bolt-on installation I can do myself?

Yes. The pipes bolt to the factory mounting points with no cutting or welding required. Mechanically confident owners with a lift and hand tools can fit them, though many prefer to have a shop handle the swap on a car of this value to confirm a clean, leak-free seal at every joint.

What are the Secondary Race Pipes for Ferrari F355 made from?

They are fabricated from CNC mandrel-bent T304L stainless steel, a corrosion-resistant grade that handles exhaust heat while keeping a smooth, consistent bore for maximum flow. The lightweight straight-pipe design is what reduces weight over the factory secondary pipework and gives the system its freer-breathing, higher-energy character.

Fabspeed Secondary Race Pipes for Ferrari F355

The Fabspeed Secondary Race Pipes for Ferrari F355 replace the restrictive factory secondary section with free-flowing, mandrel-bent T304L stainless pipework that lets the flat-plane 3.5L V8 sing. Built in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania by a shop that designs, dyno-tests and race-validates its own hardware, these pipes strip weight out of the car and open up flow, bringing the F355 much closer to the exotic, early-2000s Ferrari F1 exhaust note the engine always had in it. They bolt to the factory mounting points for a clean, direct fit with no cutting or welding, finished to the standard this era of Ferrari deserves.

Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
