Do the Fabspeed Competition Downpipes fit both the F12 and F13 M6?

Yes. The Fabspeed Competition Downpipes fit the F13 coupe and F12 convertible M6 built from 2013 to 2019, both powered by the 4.4L S63 twin-turbo V8. They install at the factory downpipe location behind each turbo and ship as matched left and right pipes with hardware. The same set covers both bodystyles.

How much power do the Competition Downpipes add?

Freeing up the downpipes is one of the single most effective bolt-on gains on the S63 twin-turbo, since it clears the biggest restriction right at the turbo outlets. Fabspeed lists gains as application dependent rather than a fixed figure, because results scale heavily with the tune and the rest of the exhaust. Most owners run a supporting tune to unlock the full gain.

Will these downpipes trigger a check engine light?

Yes. On OBD2 cars the S63's oxygen sensors read the freer-flowing section and set a check engine light. The Competition Downpipes are sold for closed-course and off-road use only, where a light does not affect their purpose, and many owners pair them with a supporting tune that manages it.

What are the Fabspeed Competition Downpipes made from?

They are fabricated from T304L stainless steel with CNC-machined flanges and laser-cut brackets. T304L is an austenitic alloy that stands up to the heat and pressure of a hard-run twin-turbo V8, and the straight-through construction keeps the exhaust path fully open for maximum flow. Fabspeed builds and welds every set in-house.

Are the Competition Downpipes street legal, or should I run Sport Cat Downpipes?

No, these are not street legal. They are built strictly for closed-course and off-road use, are not CARB or EPA certified, and are not for sale in California. If you want strong gains while keeping full emissions function and no check engine light for street driving, the Fabspeed Sport Cat Downpipes for the M6 are the street-friendly alternative.

Is installation a bolt-on job?

The Competition Downpipes replace the factory downpipes in the S63's hot-V and ship as matched left and right pipes with hardware. No cutting or fabrication is needed, but the hot-V location makes this a more involved job than a simple exhaust swap, so many owners have it installed by a shop.

Description

Fabspeed Competition Downpipes for F12 / F13 BMW M6

Fabspeed Competition Downpipes for the F12 / F13 BMW M6 clear the biggest restriction in the S63 twin-turbo exhaust, running straight-through, high-flow T304L stainless steel pipes off each hot-V turbo for maximum flow, sharper response, and a harder, more aggressive V8 note in comparison to the Factory Equipment. Freeing up the turbo downpipes is one of the single most effective gains on the S63, and these Competition Downpipes do it with CNC-machined flanges and laser-cut brackets for a precise fit. They arrive as matched left and right downpipes with hardware and carry Fabspeed’s lifetime warranty. Fabricated in-house in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, they are built strictly for closed-course competition and off-road use.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
