Do the Fabspeed Competition Downpipes fit the E71 X6M?

Yes. The Fabspeed Competition Downpipes fit the E71 X6M built from 2010 to 2014 with the 4.4L S63 twin-turbo V8. They are a direct bolt-on at the turbo section and include the mounting hardware. This listing covers the E71 X6M; Fabspeed builds a matching set for the E70 X5M as well.

What do the Competition Downpipes change, power or sound?

Mostly flow and response. These downpipes open up the restriction at the turbo section, which sharpens throttle response and frees the S63 to make more power, especially with a supporting tune. The exhaust note gets a little deeper and cleaner, but these are a flow-first upgrade rather than a loud race part, so expect a mild change in sound.

Will these downpipes trigger a check engine light?

Yes, a check engine light can be expected, and it can be cleared with an ECU tune. Because these are straight-through downpipes for closed-course use, the S63's sensors read the freer-flowing section and set a code. A supporting tune both removes the light and unlocks more of the gains.

What are the Fabspeed Competition Downpipes made from?

They are made from polished T304L stainless steel, an austenitic alloy that stands up to the heat and pressure of a hard-run twin-turbo V8. Fabspeed fabricates and finishes every set in-house, and the straight-through construction keeps the exhaust path fully open for maximum flow from the turbos.

Are the Competition Downpipes street legal, or should I run Sport Cat Downpipes?

The Competition Downpipes are not street legal. They are built for closed-course and off-road use, are not CARB or EPA certified, and are not for sale in California, and they will set a check engine light until tuned. If you want to keep catalytic function for a more street-oriented setup, the Fabspeed Sport Cat Downpipes for the X6M are the alternative.

Are they a bolt-on, and do they pair with the Supercup exhaust?

Yes on both. The Competition Downpipes are a direct bolt-on with four bolts, washers, and nuts included, though gaskets are not. They handle the front of the exhaust, so they pair with the Fabspeed Supercup exhaust system at the back for a fuller front-to-back upgrade on the X6M.

Description

Fabspeed Competition Downpipes for E71 BMW X6M

Fabspeed Competition Downpipes for the E71 BMW X6M clear the restriction at the turbo section of the S63 twin-turbo V8, running straight-through, polished T304L stainless steel pipes in place of the factory section for freer flow, sharper throttle response, and a mild lift in exhaust note in comparison to the Factory Equipment. They bolt straight in with the included hardware and are built and polished in-house at Fabspeed in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania. Because they open up the front of the exhaust on this hot-V twin-turbo, they are one of the more effective flow upgrades for the X6M, and they carry Fabspeed’s lifetime warranty. They are built strictly for closed-course competition and off-road use.

Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
