Eventuri Plastic Intake & Carbon Scoop for F56 Mini Cooper S [EVE-F56-LCI-PL-INT/EVE-F56-PL-INT]

Eventuri introduces a new plastic variant that broadens accessibility without compromising performance and retains the carbon hood scoop. Built around the F56 platform’s 2.0L B48 engine—a carryover from BMW—this intake leverages Eventuri’s deep engineering experience and embodies the brand’s Complete System philosophy. As a fully sealed design, it delivers a consistent supply of ambient air via larger internal volume channels, aided by the carbon bonnet scoop, rather than drawing heat from the engine bay. The result is lower intake temperatures than the stock airbox and resistance to heat soak, especially on higher-powered MINIs. For an exceptionally smooth path to the turbo, Eventuri pairs its patented filter housing with a CNC-machined MAF tube.

Intake Housing Assembly

• Eventuri’s filter housing assembly combines a second-generation bespoke filter, aluminum inlet cowl, CNC-machined MAF tube, and a choice of carbon or plastic pod. The pod encloses the reverse-mounted element and guides airflow into the intake tube with a smooth cross-sectional taper, invoking the Venturi effect to accelerate flow while maintaining laminar conditions—functionally acting as a large velocity stack. Eventuri’s custom filter further stabilizes the stream for an even velocity profile at the housing exit. For sensor accuracy, the CNC-machined MAF tube is held to tight tolerances so the sensor operates within OEM parameters and avoids warning codes. Because the tube sits near the exhaust manifold, it is insulated with a neoprene wrap to limit heat soak and protect internal airflow temperatures.

Carbon Intake Scoop

• Eventuri notes that the OEM intake draws air from behind the front grille above the radiator, where relatively small openings can contribute to heat soak—especially on tuned MINIs. Because the factory bonnet scoop does not feed the intake directly, and the bonnet already includes two cut-outs beneath it, Eventuri redeveloped the scoop as a direct-replacement component that clips in using the OEM fastening method. The redesigned carbon scoop incorporates two inlet ramps that route outside air through the existing bonnet cut-outs and into the inlet duct. As vehicle speed increases, ram air effect intensifies, helping to minimize inlet temperatures and mitigate heat soak. Profile changes extend the scoop’s top surface for fuller coverage of the openings and a more assertive appearance. Crafted from 100% pre-preg carbon fiber, the scoop also features a V-shaped split weave for a symmetrical aesthetic befitting its central bonnet position. By leveraging the bonnet’s existing apertures, the scoop’s ramps project through to guide airflow efficiently into the duct.

Inlet Duct

• Eventuri identifies limitations in the OEM duct, which draws solely from behind the front grille and remains shallow over the slam panel. The redesigned duct admits air from both the grille and the bonnet scoop and increases internal volume to reduce restriction. To guard against engine-bay heat, a flexible rubber edging seals to the underside of the bonnet when closed, while an expandable rubber edging at the filter-housing opening maintains a reliable seal and accommodates engine movement.

Water Drainage

• Eventuri integrates comprehensive water management to protect the filter along the direct airflow path: an extended scoop top shields the bonnet openings to prevent rainfall ingress at a standstill; twin internal ramps redirect water downward onto the duct base rather than toward the filter; dual drains—one above the radiator and another ahead of the filter-housing junction—evacuate collected water; and at the duct-to-filter interface, a raised wall carrying the rubber seal blocks pooled water from entering the filter, routing it out through the additional drain.
