Introducing the G63 AMG W464 Eventuri Intake, a precision-crafted system made from prepreg carbon fiber, featuring CNC-machined components and custom-designed high-flow filters. This intake redefines performance gains in the aftermarket segment for this platform. By utilizing additional space under the hood, Eventuri has significantly increased intake volume, achieving a 25% greater airflow rate compared to OEM airboxes while retaining the original cold air feeds. The larger intake volume enables a smoother airflow path, reducing resistance for the turbos. This results in a decreased wastegate duty cycle and enhanced overall performance. To accommodate the increased intake size, Eventuri has redesigned the engine cover, incorporating a custom-molded heat shield with high-temperature silicone insulation to protect against excessive heat from the turbos and manifold. The Eventuri G63 AMG intake system delivers industry-leading performance gains while enhancing both the auditory and visual experience of driving and ownership.

Airbox Assemblies

The airbox assemblies feature a two-part design, with upper and lower sections separated by filter panels. Each section is carefully engineered to maximize internal volume while maintaining an unobstructed airflow path to the turbos. The primary challenge in this design was increasing the airbox volume to improve flow rate capacity beyond the limitations of the stock airboxes. Due to the compact nature of the G63 engine bay, this was achieved by optimizing the internal height of the airboxes. The most significant improvement came from enlarging the upper airbox lids, which substantially increased volume and created a smoother, more efficient airflow path.

Airbox Comparisons

A direct comparison between the Eventuri intake and OEM airboxes highlights the improvements in volume and airflow efficiency. The OEM cold air feed connects to the airbox via a long, flexible duct with restricted sizing, limiting airflow and reducing the ability of the airbox base to optimize the incoming flow onto the filter. Eventuri has integrated most of the cold air feed length into the airbox base, allowing for a significantly larger internal volume and a more organic airflow path, ensuring maximum filter exposure.
The OEM airbox lid presents further restrictions due to the close proximity of the filter panel to the turbo inlet. In the stock design, airflow must transition abruptly from the rectangular filter to the circular turbo inlet, which is positioned to one side of the airbox. This results in stagnant airflow across significant portions of the filter, increasing resistance. Eventuri has lowered the filter position, creating more space for a smoother transition to the turbo inlet. This adjustment maximizes filter efficiency, minimizes turbulence, and reduces drag on the turbos.

Engine Cover

By optimizing the available space under the hood, Eventuri has maximized the intake system’s volume, which necessitated a redesigned engine cover. The OEM cover sits close to the stock intakes, limiting expansion. Eventuri’s new cover is constructed from prepreg carbon fiber and incorporates high-temperature insulation to protect against heat from the turbos.

Custom Panel Filters

Increasing the intake size was only possible with the development of custom filters. Eventuri’s high-flow panel filters utilize a multi-layer dry medium for effective filtration while featuring a curved profile to eliminate sharp corners within the airbox. This design prevents turbulence, ensuring smooth and efficient airflow.

Dyno Testing

The intake system has been independently dyno-tested by Mercedes specialists MSL Performance. Back-to-back tests were conducted against the stock airbox, with multiple runs recorded for each configuration. The best results from the stock airbox were compared with the best results from the Eventuri system. The dyno results consistently show gains throughout the RPM range, attributed to the turbos reaching peak boost earlier and with a lower wastegate duty cycle due to the intake’s higher efficiency. These gains were recorded despite higher dyno cell temperatures during the Eventuri tests. On the road, this translates to improved part-throttle and full-throttle response, with the vehicle pulling more aggressively to the redline.

Flow Bench Testing

Flow rate tests were conducted using a Superflow SF-1020 to measure the maximum possible flow rate at a pressure drop of 28” H2O. The tests were performed under controlled conditions on the same day using an identical test jig for each system. Eventuri’s full intake system was tested against the stock airbox, demonstrating that the stock airbox is highly restrictive. The Eventuri system improves maximum possible flow rate by up to 25%, achieving these gains while maintaining a sealed intake system that draws air from the same location as the OEM setup. While an open system might provide higher flow rates, it would compromise intake air temperatures, negatively affecting performance.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates.
