Eventuri introduces the F9x X5 M / X6 M and G09 XM intake system, developed after extensive R&D and testing to improve the flow path compared to the stock system. This intake is a complete redesign of the airboxes, aimed at reducing pressure loss, increasing flow rate, and maintaining low inlet temperatures. The stock system’s cold air feeds are located at the front, while the turbo inlets face the rear, causing a 180-degree turn that restricts airflow. To address this, Eventuri added an additional cold air feed from the scuttle panel, creating a more direct flow path to the turbo inlets. This enhancement improves flow rate, reduces intake air temperatures, and enhances the sound of the turbos, making turbo flutter and pressure release sounds more audible, thus elevating the driving experience.

The Eventuri Difference

• The F9x X5 M and G09 XM Eventuri system features patented carbon fiber housings paired with bespoke Gen 2 filters, ensuring an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbos. This system differs from traditional cone filters with heat shields by utilizing the Venturi effect to maintain laminar flow conditions, minimizing turbo drag.

Filter Housing Assemblies

• The filter housings include custom-generation 2 filters, aluminum inlet cowls, and stainless steel brackets. The carbon pod encases the reverse-mounted filter, directing airflow smoothly toward the OEM turbo inlets. Unlike the stock airbox, which has abrupt 90-degree turns that restrict flow, the Eventuri system features a direct path from the filter to the turbo inlets, reducing drag and improving efficiency.

Bespoke Cone Filter

• To achieve the highest flow rate, Eventuri utilizes a filter element that maximizes available space in the engine bay. The filter medium is ISO tested to meet OEM filtration standards and is designed with dry construction. Signature flow cones in the filter aid in the Venturi housing principle, enhancing airflow.

Patented Technology

• Eventuri’s patented filter housing reduces in cross-sectional area, tapering to the tubing, which accelerates the airflow while maintaining laminar conditions. This design invokes the Venturi effect, functioning like a large velocity stack. The bespoke filters ensure an even velocity profile, improving airflow as it exits the housings.

Carbon Twin Air-Ducts

• The stock system’s main restriction lies in the feed location, as the air feeds are positioned at the front while the turbo inlets face the rear. Eventuri’s redesigned air ducts include a secondary feed from the scuttle panel, resulting in a higher flow rate and a more direct path to the turbos.

EPDM Rear Feeds

• To ensure a proper seal, the secondary air inlets on the carbon ducts connect to EPDM feeds that route to the scuttle panel area. When the hood is closed, the scuttle area is sealed from the engine bay, allowing ambient air to flow into the intake. A pre-cut section of the OEM hood seal is included for easy installation of these EPDM feeds.

Carbon Engine Cover

• Due to the large volume design of the filter housings, the OEM engine cover no longer fits, so Eventuri has produced a modified cover to enhance the engine bay’s aesthetic. Gaps are left between the cover and the intakes, allowing heat to dissipate and preventing it from soaking into the intake system. This complete intake system improves performance, aesthetics, and sound compared to the stock airbox.

Dyno Testing

• The system has been independently dyno tested by MSL Performance in the UK, showing consistent gains across a broad RPM range. These gains are attributed to the turbos reaching peak boost earlier and with a lower wastegate duty cycle, resulting in improved part-throttle and full-throttle response. On the road, this translates into quicker acceleration and a more responsive driving experience.
