Eventuri Gloss Carbon Intake System for C8 Audi RS6 and RS7

The Audi C8 RS6 intake system represents the result of extensive development, testing, and prototyping. Eventuri focused on two main objectives: increasing flow rate and smoothing airflow. To increase flow, they maximized the limited space in the RS6 engine bay by redesigning the entire airbox. This allowed for larger volume, increased entry openings, and a better filter angle to the turbos. They also increased the turbo inlets’ size by up to 85% in cross-sectional area. To ensure smooth airflow, they created an organically shaped system with a custom rounded panel filter, minimizing sharp corners and maintaining laminar flow. Partnering with BMC, Eventuri developed a bespoke filter element for maximum filtration area while ensuring clean airflow. With these improvements, the C8 RS6 intake system enhances turbo efficiency, resulting in improved throttle response and significant power gains, independently tested and increasing with higher states of tune. These performance gains stem from their comprehensive design, from the airbox base to the lid and turbo inlets.

Lower Airbox

• Eventuri has completely redesigned the entire airbox system, including the base where the filter sits. By integrating the slam panel with the lower airbox and increasing the volume in this area, they have significantly boosted the total flow rate. Additionally, the base is designed to position the filter at a more optimal angle to the turbo inlets. Unlike the stock airbox, which has a 90-degree turn from the filter to the inlets, Eventuri’s airbox features a gentler angle, allowing for a smoother airflow path.

Airbox Lid

• During development, Eventuri designed and tested four different versions of the airbox lid, with testing revealing that V2 offered the best performance. This design was optimized using CFD simulations to ensure a smooth airflow path from the filter to the inlets. Compared to the stock lid, the V2 design has increased volume and features a more organic shape with smoother curves, replacing the cuboid form of the stock lid. Additionally, the openings to the turbo inlets have been significantly enlarged for improved airflow.

Turbo Inlets

• The inlets on the airbox side have been enlarged by up to 85% compared to the stock inlets, then smoothly taper down to the stock turbo size. This increased size reduces drag, allowing the turbos to operate more efficiently. Eventuri has also incorporated CNC-machined bushes and rings in the inlets for added structural strength. For vehicles with hybrid turbos, they offer separate inlets, available upon request, to accommodate the different inlet diameters.

Bespoke BMC Filter

• Eventuri’s airbox design required a bespoke panel filter, and to achieve this, they collaborated with BMC. BMC developed their signature filter specifically for Eventuri’s system. This washable 4-layer cotton mesh filter offers superior filtration while maintaining a low pressure drop for optimal performance.
• The complete intake system is designed to provide a superior airbox, enabling the turbos to reach target boost levels more quickly, allowing the engine to produce more power earlier in the RPM range. When paired with a tune that increases boost levels, the airbox offers a de-restricted airflow path, allowing the turbos to achieve higher boost pressures efficiently.
