Eventuri Carbon V2 Intake System

The BMW G20 B58 Eventuri intake has been engineered to provide the turbo with a more efficient airflow while maintaining low inlet temperatures. Heat and volume are key factors when designing an intake for turbocharged engines. In the G20, the intake system is positioned near the exhaust manifold, leading to rapid heat soak in the engine bay. High temperatures can negatively impact engine performance, as the turbo would need to build boost with heated, less dense air. To prevent this, Eventuri designed a fully sealed intake system to keep intake air temperatures (IATs) low. However, this creates a restriction, as the stock setup only has one air feed. During development, Eventuri identified an additional opening into the wheel arch and incorporated a secondary air feed into their design. The sealed airbox also features a gold reflective heat shield to minimize radiant heat transfer from the exhaust manifold. To maximize airflow volume, Eventuri enlarged the airbox, including a recess for potential strut braces. The stock convoluted intake tube was replaced with a smooth carbon tube that has a larger internal volume, starting with a 111mm (4.4″) internal diameter that tapers down to match the turbo inlet. This smooth tube provides an unrestricted path from the filter to the turbo. Finally, Eventuri utilizes a custom high-flow dry filter, ISO tested for filtration efficiency, offering a larger filtration area than the stock filter.
