Eventuri Carbon V2 Intake System for G Chassis BMW 318i / 320i / 330e / 330i / 420i / 430i

The BMW G20 B48 Eventuri intake is designed to provide the turbo with a less restrictive airflow while maintaining low inlet temperatures. Heat and volume are key considerations when designing an intake for turbocharged engines, and in the G20, the intake system is positioned next to the exhaust manifold, which leads to rapid heat soak. High temperatures negatively affect performance, as the turbo must build boost with heated, less dense air. To combat this, Eventuri designed a fully sealed intake system to keep IATs low, though the stock air feed is limited to just one. During development, Eventuri identified an additional opening in the wheel arch area and incorporated a secondary feed into the airbox. Their sealed airbox also features a gold reflective heat shield to minimize heat transfer from the exhaust manifold. To maximize volume, the airbox is as large as possible, with a recess for potential strut braces. The stock convoluted intake tube is replaced with a smooth, larger carbon tube starting with a 111mm (4.4″) internal diameter that tapers down to match the turbo inlet, providing an unobstructed airflow path. Finally, Eventuri uses a custom high-flow dry filter, ISO tested for filtration, with a larger surface area than the stock filter.

Dual Feed Carbon Airbox

• Crafted from prepreg carbon fiber, the airbox is designed to achieve two main objectives: sealing the filter from engine bay heat and providing dual cold air feeds. Positioned next to the exhaust manifold, it is crucial that the filter remains fully sealed, so Eventuri engineered the airbox to encapsulate the filter while maintaining a large internal volume. A laser-cut plate with a rubber sealing strip secures the intake tube to the airbox, preventing heated air from entering. Additionally, a heat shield with a gold reflective layer on the exhaust manifold side helps to minimize heat soak and effectively combat radiant heat transfer.
• A fully sealed airbox can create a restriction for cold air intake, as the stock airbox only pulls air from a single duct extending to the front bumper. During development, Eventuri identified an additional source for cold air—a gap between the wheel arch and the chassis where the airbox is mounted. To utilize this, they extended a scoop at the back of the design, which protrudes into the wheel arch and remains visible after installation behind the front wheel. This second air feed allows the turbo to draw from a larger area, reducing restriction and improving airflow.

Carbon Inlet Tube

• The G20 B48 OEM airbox system was updated in vehicles built after November 2018, replacing the airflow sensor with a temperature sensor in the inlet tube. Before this update, all airbox systems included an airflow sensor. As a result, Eventuri offers two variations: the V1 intake, designed to accommodate the MAF (airflow) sensor, and the V2 intake, for vehicles built after November 2018, which use a temperature sensor.
• The stock inlet tube features a flexible and convoluted section to accommodate engine movement, but this design introduces the possibility of turbulence in the airflow due to multiple surfaces that can create eddies. Eventuri replaces this with a smooth carbon tube that has a larger internal volume. Unlike most aftermarket intakes, they maximized the size of their intake tube. The OEM inlet tube has an internal diameter of 80.8mm (3.2″) at the filter end, while Eventuri’s tube for cars built after November 2018 has an internal diameter of 109mm (4.3″), representing an 82% increase in cross-sectional area. The tube tapers smoothly down to the stock turbo inlet to maintain laminar airflow. It also features CNC-machined fittings for the temperature sensor and breather adapter.

Bespoke Cone Filter

• Eventuri’s cone filter is constructed from a double-layered non-woven mesh material, ISO tested to meet OEM filtration standards. It is cleanable and highly stable at elevated temperatures, with a urethane base for added durability. The filter includes an internal flow-guiding cone that helps direct airflow, reducing the risk of a stagnation point in the center of the filter. Additionally, the filter medium provides a significantly larger surface area compared to the stock panel filter, improving overall airflow and performance.
