Eventuri Carbon Intake System for MK8 Volkswagen Golf R

The MK8 Golf GTI/R intake is a complete redesign of the stock system, extending to the turbo inlet. Inspired by Eventuri’s RS3 intake, it maximizes available space to accommodate all power levels, from stock to high-power builds. This system is engineered for optimal airflow and low intake temperatures. The restrictive 73mm stock inlet tube is replaced with a larger 94mm tube, while the 192mm filter offers over 110,000mm² of filtration surface. The patented Venturi housing maximizes internal volume for smooth, laminar flow to the turbo. Additionally, the duct includes an extra opening behind the hood for increased airflow, allowing for better performance while maintaining low intake temperatures.

The Eventuri Difference

  • The Eventuri MK8 Golf R/GTI intake system is comprised of several components, each engineered for a specific function and manufactured to the highest standards. Eventuri utilizes 100% pre-preg carbon fiber, without any fiberglass, allowing for a smooth internal surface that promotes better airflow. The 2.0 TFSI Generation 4 Eventuri system features Eventuri’s patented carbon fiber housings, which create an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbo tubing. This design is more than just a cone filter with a heat shield—it incorporates a unique design that leverages the Venturi effect for enhanced performance.

Patented Technology

  • The MK8 Golf housing consists of a bespoke high-flow filter, aluminum cowl, laser-cut bracket, and the carbon pod. The carbon pod encloses the reverse-mounted filter and smoothly directs airflow toward the intake tubes. This gradual reduction in cross-sectional area creates the Venturi effect, accelerating airflow while maintaining laminar conditions. It functions similarly to a large velocity stack.

Bespoke Cone Filter

  • To achieve the highest possible flow rate, they designed a new filter element that maximizes the available space in the engine bay. This filter has an outer diameter of 192mm (7.6″) and, when flow tested with a housing featuring a 4″ opening, can flow up to 900 CFM at 28″ H2O. The filter medium is ISO-tested to meet OEM filtration standards and is also dry. It is constructed with their signature flow cones to support the Venturi housing design.

Carbon Duct

  • The duct channels ambient air from the slam panel area to the filter housing. It fits inside the OEM slam panel area and smoothly transitions to the circular filter housing shape. In order to ensure a good seal against engine bay heat – it also has a flexible rubber edging around the opening which presses against the filter housings creating the desired seal yet allowing the housing to move with the engine. Since this was designed to support high power builds, Eventuri found that the stock openings in the slam panel could cause a restriction at high flow demand. So they lifted the top surface of the duct and created an opening above the slam panel which is able to draw in cold air from behind the hood shut. This extra opening is equivalent to a hole with a diameter of over 7″ and completely de-restricts the stock cold air feed. The duct was designed to have the maximum internal volume possible within the given geometry of the engine bay. This ensures that the filter housing is able to draw with minimum restriction.

Silicon Turbo Hose

  • Their silicone hose replaces the stock flexible tube leading to the turbo inlet. It is designed to match the 94mm outlet diameter of their filter housing, which is significantly larger than the stock 73mm tube, resulting in an increase in cross-sectional area of over 60%. The silicone hose maintains this larger diameter as much as possible before smoothly tapering down to fit the stock turbo inlet.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer.
