The MK8 Golf GTI/R intake system represents a comprehensive redesign of the original stock intake, extending all the way to the turbo inlet. Inspired by their RS3 intake, Eventuri has optimized the use of available space to accommodate all power levels, from stock to high-powered builds with hybrid or full-frame turbos. The system is engineered to achieve the highest possible flow rate while maintaining the lowest feasible intake temperatures. Each component is crafted to ensure a smooth, unrestricted path to the turbo. Replacing the stock’s restrictive 73mm diameter inlet tube, a wider 94mm diameter tube is used. The filter boasts an outer diameter of 192mm (7.5 inches) and a filtration surface area exceeding 110,000mm^2. The patented Venturi housing is designed to maximize internal volume within the constraints of the Golf’s engine bay, ensuring laminar flow towards the turbo tube. Moreover, the duct seals the filter opening to the front slam panel but is not limited to the stock entry feed; the front of the duct has been elevated to create an additional opening behind the hood, effectively adding an extra 7-inch diameter hole for air intake. This design allows the system to significantly outperform the stock airbox in terms of airflow while keeping intake temperatures low with its sealed configuration.

The Eventuri Difference

• The 2.0 TFSi Generation 4 Eventuri system features their patented carbon fiber housings, which provide an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbo tubing. This is not merely another cone filter with a heat shield but a distinctive design that leverages the Venturi effect.

Patented Technology

• The MK8 Golf housing includes a bespoke high flow filter, aluminum cowl, laser-cut bracket, and the carbon pod itself. The carbon pod encases the reverse-mounted filter and efficiently directs airflow to the intake tubes, smoothly reducing the cross-sectional area to accelerate airflow while maintaining laminar conditions, similar to a large velocity stack.

Bespoke Cone Filter

• To maximize the flow rate, Eventuri has designed a new filter element that utilizes as much space as possible within the engine bay. This filter, with an outer diameter of 192mm (7.6 inches) and tested with a housing featuring a 4-inch opening, can flow up to 900 CFM at 28″ H2O. The filter medium is ISO tested to meet OEM standards and is dry. The filter incorporates Eventuri’s signature flow cones to enhance the Venturi housing principle.

Carbon Duct

• The duct channels ambient air from the slam panel area to the filter housing, fitting snugly within the OEM slam panel and transitioning smoothly to the circular filter housing shape. To ensure a good seal against engine bay heat, it includes a flexible rubber edging around the opening that presses against the filter housings to create a seal while allowing movement with the engine. Designed to support high power builds, Eventuri modified the top surface of the duct to include an opening above the slam panel for drawing in cold air from behind the hood shut. This additional opening, equivalent to a diameter of over 7 inches, eliminates restrictions from the stock cold air feed and maximizes internal volume to minimize intake restriction.

Silicon Turbo Hose

• Replacing the stock flexible tube to the turbo inlet, the silicon hose matches the 94mm outlet diameter of the filter housing, a significant increase from the stock tube’s 73mm diameter, thus expanding the cross-sectional area by over 60%. This hose maintains this diameter as far as possible before smoothly tapering down to the stock turbo inlet.
