Eventuri Carbon Intake System for G90 & G99 BMW M5 [EVE-G9X-CF-INT/EVE-G9X-CFM-INT]

Eventuri developed the G9x M5 intake system to deliver a highly efficient airflow route to the turbochargers while minimizing heat soak for optimal performance. The system features a fully sealed design to block heated engine bay air, while incorporating a dual air feed setup to reduce pressure drop. Air is channeled from the OEM ducts as well as additional inlets near the bonnet shuts, which access a consistently cool zone within the engine bay. These secondary openings not only supply cooler air but also enhance turbo spool audibility within the cabin for a more immersive driving experience. Central to the system are Eventuri’s patented Venturi filter housings, engineered to maintain laminar airflow and reduce turbulence as air approaches the turbo inlets. This design enables lower wastegate duty cycles, contributing to improved throttle response, enhanced acceleration, and a more direct connection to the road.

The Eventuri Difference

• The G9X M5 intake system from Eventuri features patented carbon fiber housings combined with Generation 2 bespoke filters, delivering an aerodynamically optimized airflow path from the filters to the turbochargers. Unlike typical cone filters with heat shields, this design utilizes the Venturi effect to maintain laminar flow conditions and reduce drag on the turbos.

Intake Housing Assembly

• Eventuri’s filter housings consist of Generation 2 custom filters, aluminum inlet cowls, carbon fiber pods, and integrated tubes. The carbon pods enclose the reverse-mounted filters and sculpt the airflow smoothly toward the turbo inlet tubes. A critical design element is the elimination of the convoluted rubber hose typically found between the airbox and the turbo inlets. Instead, the integrated housings and tubes extend directly to the stock turbo pipes, allowing the entire system to move as one unit with the engine under the strut braces. This approach removes the need for flexible connections, reducing turbulence and resistance, and enabling the turbos to operate more efficiently.

Internal Volume

• A further enhancement lies in the increased internal volume of the tubing as it passes through the strut braces on the G90 M5. Eventuri has enlarged the cross-sectional area at this critical juncture compared to the OEM setup, allowing for greater air volume to reach the turbo inlets with reduced restriction. This improvement results in a 31% increase in cross-sectional area over the factory airbox design.

Patented Technology

• The patented filter housings feature a gradual reduction in cross-sectional area, forming a tapered geometry that accelerates airflow while maintaining laminar conditions—an application of the Venturi effect. Functioning like a large velocity stack, this design promotes even velocity profiles as air exits the housings. Carbon Fiber Dual-Feed Ducts

• To ensure a consistent cold air supply, Eventuri has designed dual-feed carbon ducts. The primary duct connects to the OEM cold air source near the bumper and headlamp, while the secondary feed, positioned near the bonnet shuts, accesses a cooler zone in the engine bay. This dual-feed configuration minimizes pressure drop and maximizes airflow efficiency, while also enhancing turbo acoustics inside the cabin. Crafted from high-quality prepreg carbon fiber, the ducts complete the system with both function and aesthetics in mind.

Dyno Testing

• Eventuri’s intake system has undergone independent dyno testing by MSL Performance, directly compared to the stock airbox in repeated runs. Results demonstrated consistent performance gains across the RPM range, credited to the turbos reaching peak boost sooner and with reduced wastegate duty cycles—despite higher dyno cell temperatures during the Eventuri tests. On the road, this translates to sharper throttle response and stronger acceleration all the way to redline.
