Eventuri Carbon Intake System for 8Y Audi S3

The S3 8Y intake is a complete overhaul of the stock system, extending all the way to the turbo inlet. Inspired by Eventuri’s RS3 intake, it maximizes available space to accommodate all power levels, from stock setups to high-power builds with hybrid or full-frame turbos. This intake system is engineered to provide the highest possible flow rate while maintaining the lowest intake temperatures. Each component is carefully designed to deliver smooth, unrestricted airflow to the turbo. The restrictive 73mm stock inlet tube is replaced with a larger 94mm tube for improved airflow. The filter itself has a 192mm (7.5″) outer diameter with a filtration surface area exceeding 110,000mm². The patented Venturi housing is optimized to offer maximum internal volume within the S3 engine bay, providing laminar airflow to the turbo tube. Additionally, the duct seals the filter to the front slam panel but extends beyond the stock entry feed by lifting the front of the duct, creating an extra opening behind the hood, equivalent to a 7″ diameter hole. This design enables significantly greater airflow compared to the stock airbox while keeping intake temperatures low thanks to its sealed construction.

The Eventuri Difference

• The S3 8Y Eventuri system incorporates Eventuri’s patented carbon fiber housings, designed to create an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbo tubing. This is not just another cone filter with a heat shield; it features a unique design that utilizes the Venturi effect for enhanced performance.

Patented Technology

• The S3 housing consists of a bespoke high-flow filter, aluminum cowl, laser-cut bracket, and the carbon pod. The carbon pod encloses the reverse-mounted filter and smoothly shapes the airflow toward the intake tubes. This gradual reduction in cross-sectional area creates the Venturi effect, accelerating the airflow while maintaining laminar conditions. Essentially, it functions like a large velocity stack.

Bespoke Cone Filter

• To achieve the highest possible flow rate, Eventuri designed a new filter element that maximizes the available space in the engine bay. This filter has an outer diameter of 192mm (7.6″) and, when flow tested with a housing featuring a 4″ opening, can flow up to 900 CFM at 28″ H2O. The filter medium is ISO-tested to ensure it meets OEM filtration standards and is also dry. It is constructed with Eventuri’s signature flow cones to complement the Venturi housing principle, enhancing airflow efficiency.

Carbon Duct

• The duct directs ambient air from the slam panel area to the filter housing, fitting neatly within the OEM slam panel space while smoothly transitioning to the circular shape of the filter housing. To ensure a proper seal against engine bay heat, the duct is equipped with a flexible rubber edging around the opening that presses against the filter housing. This creates an effective seal while allowing the housing to move with the engine. Designed to support high-power builds, Eventuri identified that the stock openings in the slam panel could cause restrictions under high airflow demands. To resolve this, they raised the top surface of the duct and created an additional opening above the slam panel, allowing cold air to be drawn in from behind the hood. This extra opening is equivalent to a 7″ diameter hole, effectively eliminating restrictions from the stock cold air feed. The duct was also designed with the maximum internal volume possible within the constraints of the engine bay, ensuring the filter housing can draw air with minimal restriction.

Silicon Turbo Hose

• Eventuri’s silicone hose replaces the stock flexible tube leading to the turbo inlet. It is designed to match the 94mm outlet diameter of the Eventuri filter housing, which is considerably larger than the 73mm stock tube, resulting in an increase in cross-sectional area of over 60%. The silicone hose maintains this larger diameter as far as possible before smoothly tapering down to match the stock turbo inlet.
