Eventuri Carbon Intake System for 8Y Audi RS3

Building on the success of their RS3 8V system, Eventuri has updated the fitment to now include the RS3 8Y. The RS3 8Y intake system is designed to support all power levels, from stock to over 1000whp. It is engineered to offer the highest possible flow rate while maintaining the lowest intake temperatures. Every component is designed to provide the turbo with a smooth, unrestricted airflow path. The intake tube features a 103mm (just over 4″) internal diameter with a smooth curvature from the filter housing to the turbo inlet. The filter, specifically designed for this intake, has an outer diameter of 210mm (8.3″) and a filtration surface area exceeding 130,000mm². The patented Venturi housing maximizes internal volume within the RS3 engine bay and provides laminar airflow to the turbo tube. Additionally, the duct seals the filter opening to the front slam panel but includes an extra opening behind the hood, equivalent to a 7″ diameter hole, to further enhance airflow. This system is capable of flowing 840 CFM at 28″ H2O, while its sealed design ensures minimal intake temperatures.

The Eventuri Difference

  • The RS3 8Y Eventuri system uses Eventuri’s Patented Carbon fiber Housings which provide an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbo tubing. Not just another cone filter with a heat shield but a unique design which invokes the Venturi affect.

Patented Venturi Filter Housing Assembly

  • The Stage 3 filter housing consists of a bespoke high-flow filter, aluminum cowl, laser-cut brackets, and the carbon pod. The carbon pod encloses the reverse-mounted filter and smoothly directs the airflow toward the intake tubes. This gradual reduction in cross-sectional area creates the Venturi effect, accelerating the airflow while maintaining laminar conditions. It functions similarly to a large velocity stack.

Bespoke Stage 3 Cone Filter

  • To achieve the highest possible flow rate, they redesigned the Stage 2 filter, increasing its size to the maximum that could fit within the RS3 engine bay. The resulting filter has an outer diameter of 210mm (8.3″) and, when flow tested with just the carbon housing, is capable of flowing up to 940 CFM at 28″ H2O. The filter medium is ISO-tested to meet OEM filtration standards and is a dry type. It is also constructed with Eventuri’s signature flow cones to enhance the Venturi housing principle.

Carbon Intake Duct

  • The duct channels ambient air from the slam panel area to the filter housing, fitting seamlessly within the OEM ducting system while smoothly transitioning to the circular shape of the filter housing. To ensure a proper seal against engine bay heat, the duct is equipped with flexible rubber edging around the opening, pressing against the filter housings to create the desired seal while still allowing the housing to move with the engine. Designed to support high-power builds, Eventuri identified that the stock openings in the slam panel could cause restrictions under high-flow demand. To address this, they raised the top surface of the duct and created an additional opening above the slam panel, allowing cold air to be drawn from behind the hood shut. This extra opening, equivalent to a 7″ diameter hole, completely eliminates restrictions in the stock cold air feed. The Stage 3 duct is designed with the maximum internal volume possible within the engine bay’s geometry, ensuring minimal restriction for the filter housing.

Carbon Intake Tube

  • The intake tube is made from 100% prepreg carbon fiber, featuring a smooth internal surface with visible carbon weave. The Stage 3 tube has an internal diameter of 103mm (4″) and a smooth curvature designed to minimize pressure drop. It directs airflow from the Venturi housing to the turbo inlet, with the smooth bend geometry ensuring laminar flow is maintained from the filters to the exits.

Heat Shield

  • To protect the carbon tube from the intense heat generated by the turbo, Eventuri designed a heat shield. The shield is powder-coated black and features a gold reflective layer on the base, which deflects radiant heat from the turbo and catalyst. It also includes a stainless steel brace for added rigidity and curves around the back of the tube to deflect convective heat away, ensuring optimal performance and protection.
