Eventuri Carbon Charge Pipes for BMW S55 Engine

Eventuri is proud to unveil their Raw Carbon Fiber S55 Charge Pipes, the result of extensive R&D aimed at creating the perfect OEM replacement. These charge pipes are designed with no compromises, focusing on fitment, flow quality, and strength. To enhance structural reliability, Eventuri has chosen not to include methanol ports in these charge pipes. Instead, they are developing a specialized J-pipe that will feature multiple methanol ports for optimal cooling, strategically placed just before the inlet manifold. The Eventuri S55 Carbon Charge Pipes are crafted from high-temperature prepreg carbon fiber and are accompanied by other precisely engineered components, all built to the highest standards.

Carbon Fiber Charge Pipes

• The charge pipes are constructed from high-temperature prepreg carbon fiber, featuring multiple layers of carbon arranged in cross-directional weave patterns to enhance the strength of each component. Each pipe includes machined stainless steel rings embedded at the openings to reinforce the clamping areas. Designed with smooth bends and reliefs, these pipes ensure an efficient flow path for pressurized air moving from the turbos to the cooler. By eliminating sharp corners and exposed surfaces, they allow the turbos to function optimally, just as they would with the original OEM charge pipes.

CNC Machined Turbo Flanges

• The connection to the turbo outlets is achieved through CNC machined flanges that utilize the OEM O-ring for a proper seal. Each flange is crafted from aircraft-grade aluminum and is finished with a black anodizing process. To connect the flanges to the pipes, high-quality silicon couplers are employed, and the assembly is secured with constant tension marine-grade clamps.

Benefits

• Fitment – A common issue with aftermarket charge pipes is the poor fitment that often results from their construction using bent metal tubes. This can lead to clearance problems with the engine cover and other aftermarket intake systems. Eventuri’s use of carbon fiber offers a solution by allowing for the incorporation of complex geometries, which provides an OEM-like fitment while maintaining optimum flow.
• Flow Quality – The design features smooth curve transitions from the turbo outlets to the charge-cooler. Additionally, it increases the internal volume compared to the OEM version, allowing the turbos to operate with less restriction. The machined flange attachment to the turbo outlet maintains a constant diameter to the charge pipes, avoiding any exposed edges that could cause turbulence. This design represents an improvement over aftermarket metal charge pipes, which often include welds between the flange and the tubes.
• Strength – The final criterion was to enhance the structural strength of the charge pipes beyond the OEM versions. It has become increasingly common for OEM charge pipes to fail, particularly in tuned cars operating at higher boost levels. By employing a cross-directional carbon weave layup with multiple layers to achieve a 2mm wall thickness, these charge pipes offer an exceptionally strong solution for reliable operation, even with larger turbos. Additionally, Eventuri has incorporated CNC machined stainless steel rings at the openings where the clamps are tightened, ensuring that the pipes retain their shape even under high clamping forces.
