Eventuri Black Carbon Intake System for F5X Mini JCW GP3 / JCW Clubman

Eventuri’s F5X JCW intake system exemplifies its Complete System principle. The design employs a fully sealed air-path so the turbo draws only ambient air, enhanced by a functional bonnet scoop that actively feeds the intake duct. This duct offers greater internal volume than the OEM piece and also sources air from the factory location above the radiator. Together, the sealed architecture and scoop reduce intake temperatures versus the stock airbox and mitigate heat soak—particularly on higher powered MINIs. For the smoothest possible airflow, Eventuri utilizes its Patented Venturi filter housing with an integrated MAF section, creating a seamless flow path to the turbo.

FILTER HOUSING ASSEMBLY

Eventuri’s filter housing comprises a bespoke Gen 2 filter, an aluminium inlet cowl, a stainless steel bracket, and an integrated MAF section. The carbon pod shrouds the reverse-mounted filter and progressively guides airflow into the MAF, which then mates to the factory inlet tube. In contrast to the OEM air box where air enters from the front, turns 90° through the panel filter, then turns another 90° to reach the MAF the Eventuri architecture is significantly more direct. Air enters the front of the housing and proceeds into the MAF without abrupt direction changes. The result is a smoother path from filter to turbo inlet tube, allowing the turbo to operate with reduced restriction.

PATENTED TECHNOLOGY

Eventuri’s patented filter housing tapers with a smooth reduction in cross-sectional area as it shrouds the filter and transitions into the tubing. This geometry generates a Venturi effect, accelerating airflow while maintaining laminar conditions. Functionally, it acts as an enlarged velocity stack. The diagram below illustrates the difference between this patented architecture and a conventional intake. Eventuri’s bespoke filters further support the airflow through the housing, promoting a uniform velocity profile at exit. CARBON INTAKE SCOOP

Eventuri notes that the OEM intake draws air from behind the front grille above the radiator, where relatively small openings can promote heat soak especially on tuned MINI applications. Because the factory bonnet scoop does not feed the intake directly, and the bonnet already features two cut-outs beneath the scoop, Eventuri redeveloped the component. The Eventuri scoop is a direct-replacement piece that secures via the factory fastening method and incorporates two inlet ramps to channel external air through the existing cut-outs and into the intake duct. As vehicle speed increases, more air is forced into the duct, minimizing inlet temperatures and mitigating heat soak. The profile is refined with an extended upper surface that covers the openings for a more aggressive appearance. Constructed from 100% pre-preg carbon fiber, the scoop delivers a striking aesthetic; a V-shaped split weave creates a symmetrical visual that aligns naturally with its central bonnet placement.

INLET DUCT

Eventuri observes that the factory duct draws solely from behind the front grille and remains shallow over the slam panel. The redesigned Eventuri duct accepts airflow both from the grille and from the bonnet scoop, and its substantially larger internal volume allows the intake to breathe with reduced restriction. To shield against engine-bay heat, a flexible rubber edging surrounds the openings to the bonnet’s underside, sealing when closed. An expandable rubber edging at the filter-housing interface further ensures a secure seal while accommodating engine movement.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less.
