Eventuri Black Carbon Intake System w/ Secondary Duct for B9 Audi RS4 and RS5

The Audi B9 RS4 and RS5 Eventuri intake was developed to provide less restrictive airflow to the turbo while maintaining low inlet temperatures. Since the RS5/RS4 engine bay heats up quickly, using an open cone system would improve airflow but lead to higher inlet temperatures. To address this, Eventuri re-engineered the entire inlet system from the turbo inlet pipe to the front grille, creating a highly efficient sealed setup. The restrictive stock airbox and flexible plastic inlet pipe were replaced with a Venturi filter housing and a duct system with smooth transitions. Additionally, the convoluted stock inlet pipe was replaced with a one-piece Venturi housing and solid tube, resulting in smoother airflow to the turbo inlet. This design delivers industry-leading performance gains and aesthetics for this platform.

The Eventuri Difference

• The B9 RS4 and RS5 Eventuri system features patent-pending carbon fiber housings with bespoke Gen-2 filters, providing an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the inlet tubes. Unlike standard cone filters with heat shields, this design invokes the Venturi effect to optimize airflow and performance.

Carbon Intake Housing Assembly

• The filter housing consists of Eventuri’s bespoke Generation 2 filter, a carbon pod, and an integrated tube. The carbon pod encloses the reverse-mounted filter, shaping the airflow smoothly toward the turbo tube, matching its diameter. This design eliminates the need for a convoluted rubber hose between the intake and engine. The filter housing and integrated tube extend all the way to the stock turbo tube, and by mounting the system to the engine, the entire filter housing moves with the engine. To maintain a consistent seal with the duct as the engine moves under acceleration, an expanding rubber extrusion is mounted to the face of the duct. This reduction in cross-sectional area invokes the Venturi effect, accelerating airflow while maintaining laminar conditions, akin to a large velocity stack. The bespoke filters further ensure smooth airflow and even velocity profiles as the air exits the housings.

Carbon Intake Duct

• The duct channels ambient air from the scoop to the filter housing and creates a sealed volume of air before the filter for a consistent supply. Designed to maximize available space in the engine bay, the duct includes flexible rubber edging around the openings, ensuring a heat-resistant seal while allowing the housing to move with the engine. Eventuri also added a secondary opening at the rear of the duct in a cold region of the engine bay to enhance airflow. This geometrically complex piece is a critical element of the B9 RS4/RS5 design.

Carbon Secondary Duct

• The secondary duct is crafted from carbon fiber, connecting the main carbon duct to the air entry on the slam panel. It removes the holes found in the OEM part, offering a more finished aesthetic that matches the rest of the system.

Carbon Air Scoop

• The front carbon air scoop directs ambient air to the duct and then to the filter. Designed with a constant bend radius, it efficiently channels incoming air to the duct opening, keeping inlet air temperatures as low as possible and accelerating the drop in IATs after heat soak during a standstill.

Custom Bracket Work

• To ensure a precise fit, Eventuri invested significant development time into the mounting hardware. The brackets for the B9 RS4/RS5 system are laser-cut from stainless steel and powder-coated for durability. CNC-machined mounts are then secured to the brackets and push into the stock rubber mounts used by the OEM airbox, ensuring that the intake fits just like the factory system.
