Airbox Assemblies

• The dual airbox assemblies feature a two-piece upper and lower construction, separated by bespoke high-flow panel filters. Each airbox is contoured to maximize internal volume while preserving a direct, unobstructed airflow path to the turbocharger inlets. Due to the compact layout of the G63 engine bay, increasing airbox volume required meticulous optimization of internal height. The most significant improvements were achieved by enlarging the upper airbox lids, creating a smoother transition from the filters to the turbo inlets and delivering a substantial increase in overall airflow capacity. Each airbox integrates multiple CNC-machined components and precision-engineered brackets to ensure OEM-level fitment. Unique to the W465 platform are integrated breather modules positioned directly ahead of the outlets, each precision-machined to accept the factory breather ports. The airbox bases also incorporate machined mounting points designed to locate seamlessly into the OEM mounting grommets on both sides.

Airbox Comparisons

• A direct comparison with the factory airboxes clearly illustrates the benefits of the Eventuri system. The OEM intake uses a long, narrow flexible duct feeding into a compact airbox, which constrains internal volume and airflow capacity while also limiting how effectively incoming air is distributed across the filter. By contrast, Eventuri incorporates most of the cold-air feed length directly into the airbox base. This design allows for a significantly larger internal volume and a more natural airflow path, ensuring more uniform exposure of the filter surface.
• Additionally, the factory airbox lid positions the filter panel extremely close to the turbo inlet, forcing airflow through a tight and uneven transition from a rectangular filter to a circular opening. This design leads to stagnant areas across the filter surface and increased flow resistance. The Eventuri system relocates the filter to a lower position, creating additional space for a smoother, more gradual transition into the turbo inlet. The result is more consistent filter usage, reduced turbulence, and decreased load on the turbochargers.

Carbon Engine Cover

• Maximizing intake volume necessitated a redesigned engine cover, as the OEM cover sits too close to the factory intake components. The Eventuri engine cover provides the required clearance while also delivering a premium visual enhancement, constructed from pre-preg carbon fiber with a Kevlar center section.

Custom High-Flow Panel Filters

• To accommodate the increased intake volume, Eventuri engineered bespoke panel filters specifically for this system. The filters utilize a multi-layer dry filtration medium to ensure efficient particle capture while preserving high airflow. Their curved profile eliminates sharp internal corners within the airbox, helping to reduce turbulence and maintain smooth, consistent airflow to the turbochargers.
