Eventuri Black Carbon Intake System for G20 BMW 318i / 320i / 330i

Eventuri’s BMW G20 B48 intake is engineered to deliver a less restrictive airflow path while preserving low inlet temperatures. For turbocharged applications, heat and volume are critical: in the G20, the intake sits beside the exhaust manifold, causing rapid engine-bay heat soak. To keep IATs down, Eventuri employs a fully sealed air box, then overcomes the limitation of the single OEM feed by adding a secondary feed that draws from an additional opening into the wheel-arch area. The sealed air box integrates a heat shield with gold reflective treatment to reduce radiative heat from the manifold and is maximized in volume with a recess to accommodate strut braces. The factory convoluted tube is replaced with a smooth, larger carbon tube that begins at 111mm internal diameter and tapers progressively to the turbo inlet for an uninterrupted flow path. A custom high-flow dry filter, ISO-tested for filtration performance and sized with greater surface area than stock, completes the system to reduce restriction and support consistent, cool airflow to the turbo.

Dual Feed Carbon Fiber Air box

• Eventuri crafts the air box from pre-preg carbon fiber to achieve two objectives seal the filter from engine-bay heat and provide a dual cold-air feed. Positioned beside the exhaust manifold, the filter must be fully sealed, so the airbag encapsulates it while maximizing internal volume. A laser-cut closure plate with a rubber sealing strip interfaces with the intake tube, preventing heated air from entering. To further mitigate heat soak, an additional heat shield with a gold reflective layer on the manifold side combats radiant heat transfer. Because a fully sealed air box can limit cold-air supply, Eventuri supplements the factory front-duct feed with a second source identified during development: the gap between the wheel arch and the chassis beneath the air box. A rearward scoop extends into this area and remains visible behind the front wheel after installation. This secondary feed enlarges the available intake area, reducing restriction and allowing the turbo to draw air more freely.

Carbon Inlet Tube

• Eventuri notes that BMW revised the G20 B48 air box after November 2018, replacing the MAF sensor with an inlet air temperature sensor. To suit both configurations, Eventuri offers two variants: V1 with an inlet tube for the MAF sensor, and V2 for post-November 2018 cars using a temperature sensor. The factory inlet tube features a flexible, convoluted section to accommodate engine movement, but its multiple internal faces can introduce turbulence. Eventuri replaces it with a smooth carbon tube of greater internal volume, maximizing size where most aftermarket options do not. At the filter end, the OEM tube measures 80.8 mm internal diameter; Eventuri’s post-Nov 2018 tube measures 109 mm, delivering an 82% increase in cross-sectional area. The tube then tapers progressively to the stock turbo inlet to preserve laminar flow and includes CNC-machined provisions for the temperature sensor and breather adapter.
