Eventuri Black Carbon Intake System for C7 Audi RS6 and RS7

The Audi C7 RS6/RS7 Eventuri intake sets a new standard for intake design on this platform. It was developed with two main objectives: 1) To de-restrict the turbo inlet paths, and 2) To maintain low inlet temperatures. The first goal was achieved by providing each turbo with its own filter and Venturi stack, reducing drag and enabling the turbos to operate more efficiently. The second goal was met by enclosing the filters inside a carbon airbox and adding an additional scoop behind the front grille to feed the intake with ambient air. Given the multiple heat sources in the C7 RS6/RS7 engine bay, a simple setup of open filters and shields would lead to higher intake air temperatures (IATs). Eventuri’s carbon airbox enclosure is designed to optimize the available space and block all heat sources, resulting in industry-leading performance gains and aesthetics.

The Eventuri Difference

  • The C7 RS6/RS7 Eventuri system features two Venturi stacks mounted to the filters, which smoothly transition to the turbo tubes. These stacks provide an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filters to the turbos. This system goes beyond the typical cone filter with a heat shield, utilizing a unique design that employs the Venturi effect, allowing laminar flow to be maintained throughout the tubing and reducing drag on the turbos.

Carbon Airbox Enclosure

  • The carbon airbox enclosure is designed to maximize the available space after removing the OEM airbox, effectively shielding the filters from multiple heat sources within the engine bay. Besides the engine and turbo setup, there is a heat exchanger beneath the headlamp that emits significant heat. Additionally, when the radiator fan is operating, hot air is pushed into the intake area from the radiator side, just below the duct. These heat sources require complete shielding by the airbox, as a simple cone and heat shield setup cannot provide the same level of protection. During testing, open filters with heat shielding resulted in significantly increased inlet temperatures, causing a power loss. The airbox prevents heat from affecting the filters and connects to the carbon duct, which supplies the enclosure with cold air.

Carbon Venturi Tubes

  • To connect the dual-cone filters to the stock turbo pipes, Eventuri designed a pair of tubes with smooth curves and an innovative Venturi stack that matches the inner diameter of the filter neck. This design maintains laminar airflow as it passes through the filter and into the tubing, which is crucial at higher RPMs when the turbos are drawing in air at high velocity. The tubing’s aerodynamic design creates an efficient flow path from the filters to the turbos, enabling quicker boost generation and reducing lag. On the road, this results in sharper throttle response and more immediate acceleration, as boost is built faster.

Flow Simulation

  • As part of Eventuri’s R&D process, they conduct flow simulations on their intake systems to validate their initial concepts and calculations. These simulations also help optimize the system for smoother airflow where possible. The flow simulation for a single tube demonstrates an increase in velocity from the filter to the outlet, which is expected as the cross-sectional area decreases. It also highlights the smooth transition between the filter and tube, with the Venturi stack ensuring the airflow narrows while maintaining its laminar nature.
  • A complete flow simulation model of the airbox demonstrates the consistent saturation of airflow from the two openings while maintaining steady flow. It also shows both tubes delivering laminar airflow to the turbos, as anticipated by the Venturi design.

Carbon Air Duct

  • Eventuri redesigned the inlet duct to have a larger internal volume than the stock version. This duct channels ambient air from the front grille to the airbox enclosure, ensuring that inlet temperatures are kept as low as possible.

Carbon Air Scoop

  • The carbon air scoop is positioned behind the front grille, forcing ambient air into the duct. Its curved design efficiently guides airflow while the vehicle is in motion. This helps reduce the temperature inside the airbox enclosure rapidly after periods of standstill and heat soak.

Heat Shield

  • The system includes a laser-cut heat shield with a gold reflective coating, protecting the airbox enclosure from the direct heat generated by the turbos. Positioned in direct line with the engine’s top where the turbos are located, the airbox faces significant heat once the engine reaches operating temperature and is under load. The heat shield creates a thermal barrier between the turbos and the airbox, helping to maintain low inlet temperatures.

About Eventuri

Eventuri was founded by a team of engineers and enthusiasts with a background in Aeronautics and tuning – all sharing a passion for cars and performance. After owning various intakes over many years for their own cars and being disappointed with the gains which seldom lived up to their claims – they decided to take things into our own hands and rewrite the book. To set a new benchmark in intake design and technology, above all – to engineer systems which provide real gains and then to publish genuine figures. Their systems are extensively developed using cutting edge design, testing and prototyping methods. With a focus on performance, each design undergoes CFD analysis and is then validated at the prototype stage through volumetric airflow, intake temperature and extensive dynamometer testing. They strive to publish all the development information to illustrate the depths they go to in bringing an intake from concept to reality. Only the best materials are selected for each component – even down to the choice of fasteners and fixings in order to ensure that the quality of the end product is second to none. After many years of disappointment with the usual aftermarket intakes, they are proud to be raising the bar and creating intake systems which are setting a new standard and genuinely improve the performance of your vehicle.

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. In short, prices may change without notice. It is always advised to give us a call prior to placing your order online to confirm availability and to confirm current pricing.
Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
