EBC Brakes’ RedStuff is a high-performance NAO (non-asbestos organic) ceramic-granule-enhanced brake pad, designed specifically for the 991.1 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS, 4S, S, and GTS, as well as the Targa 4 GTS and 4S. These pads are optimized for use with cast iron brake rotors and are perfect for drivers looking to enhance their vehicle’s braking performance. Non-metallic, non-magnetic, and free from steel fibers, RedStuff pads significantly reduce brake dust and rotor wear. Compliant with stringent ecological standards, they contain no lead, nickel, copper, antimony sulfides, or asbestos, as confirmed by their NAO classification. Additionally, the RedStuff pads carry the prestigious “leaf mark” with the highest N rating for environmental safety.

RedStuff

RedStuff is EBC’s premier low-dust brake pad, specifically designed for fast street driving and suitable for cars, trucks, and SUVs under the ED range. These pads utilize aramid fiber ceramic particles, such as Twaron and Kevlar, instead of ceramic fibers, to minimize environmental impact. Free from harmful sulfides and lead, RedStuff pads are ECE R90 brake safety tested and approved. Although some dust is inevitable, RedStuff pads reduce etching caused by steel fibers by using easy-to-clean aramid fibers. Designed for durability, they require a 500-kilometer bed-in period, facilitated by EBC’s proprietary brake-in surface coating for quicker break-in. Testing by the UK Motor Industries Research Association (MIRA) showed a 30% improvement in braking performance, with stopping distances reduced by up to 50 feet from 100mph.

Backplates & NRS Hooks

EBC Brakes integrates the NRS (nucap retention system), a licensed bonding technology from Nucap Industries, to enhance pad-to-plate bonding. This method employs bi-directional crescent-shaped projections on the backing plate, which increases shear strength by up to six times. At EBC’s Northampton Pressworks facility, advanced equipment ensures precision in this process. Non-stainless backing plates are treated with heat-activated glue, sealing surfaces, improving bonding, and preventing corrosion.

Performance

Technical Information

As a hard-wearing pad, RedStuff requires a bed-in period of up to 1,000 miles to fully adapt to the disc surface. Despite this, it remains a top choice for fast-road applications and repeated heavy braking, producing significantly less dust than semi-metallic alternatives. Proven to reduce stopping distances by up to 13 meters compared to OEM pads, RedStuff includes EBC’s Brake-In surface coating for accelerated bed-in and improved rotor conditioning. With a nominal friction coefficient of 0.5 and ECE R90 compliance, these pads deliver excellent performance and safety with minimal dust output.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US.
