The do88 Performance BigPack for the 996 Porsche 911 Turbo, Turbo S, Turbo X50, and GT2 is a comprehensive upgrade package designed to deliver exceptional performance. This kit includes high-performance charge air coolers, a high-flow Y-pipe, and all necessary hoses, accessories, and mounting hardware for easy installation. While the intercooler kit and Y-pipe provide impressive performance individually, together they create a powerful system that reduces inlet temperatures, enhances airflow, and decreases back pressure across the system. This combination results in a significant increase in power and overall performance, making the BigPack an ideal upgrade for maximizing the capabilities of the 996 Porsche 911.

Intercooler

To ensure optimal airflow distribution across the entire core, the do88 Performance Intercoolers feature cast, flow-optimized tanks. A well-designed tank is critical for maximizing heat transfer and flow efficiency. To accommodate the thickest possible core for enhanced cooling capacity, the original upper air guides have been replaced with custom-designed carbon fiber guides developed by do88 using 3D scanning technology. This ensures a precise fit with both the car’s bodywork and the large intercoolers. To further optimize cooling, these air guides are equipped with seals against both the intercooler and bodywork, preventing cooling air from bypassing the core. The intercooler connections are 70mm (2 3/4″) in diameter to eliminate bottlenecks and maximize airflow. The kit includes new CFD-tested hoses for all four positions, with turbocharger outlet hoses made from high-temperature-resistant material, rated for continuous use at 240°C.

Y-Pipe

The do88 Y-pipe is the result of meticulous design, incorporating extensive CAD modeling, flow calculations, and 3D prototyping. Engineered for high-performance applications, it eliminates system restrictions while delivering significantly improved airflow and maintaining a lightweight construction. Crafted from mandrel-bent aluminum pipes, the Y-pipe features a 3D free-form designed cast collector to optimize flow. Finished with a durable and elegant powder coating, the do88 Y-pipe combines exceptional performance with a sleek appearance.

Testing

The diagram illustrates the performance difference between the OEM 996 intercoolers and the do88 Performance Intercoolers. Data was recorded using an AIM race logger during three consecutive full-throttle acceleration runs from 50 to 250 km/h in a Stage 1 tuned Porsche 996, with no cooling between runs. Initial tests were conducted with the OEM intercoolers, followed by a quick swap to the do88 intercoolers, and the same test sequence was repeated. The results show a significant improvement in cooling, with a peak intake air temperature reduction of 41°C. Extensive development, including end tank refinement and optimized cell package selection, has resulted in intercoolers that excel in both heat transfer and airflow efficiency. Airflow performance was validated using the Superflow SF-1020 Probench as a complete system with hoses on both the inlet and outlet for accurate comparisons between the OEM and do88 intercoolers.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts.
