The do88 Performance BigPack for the 991 Porsche 911.1 Turbo and Turbo S offers a comprehensive upgrade package that includes a motorsport-grade intercooler, a high-flow Y-pipe, and all necessary hoses and accessories for seamless installation. For those looking to maximize engine airflow, do88’s industry-leading inlet ducts can also be purchased as a complementary addition. Originally launched in 2018 with a tube-and-fin core, this intercooler kit has proven itself on builds exceeding 1000hp. In 2022, do88 elevated the design further by transitioning to a Garrett Bar & Plate motorsport-grade core, delivering even greater cooling performance and airflow. This package is designed to take your 911.1 Turbo or Turbo S to the next level of performance and reliability.

Improvements

The updated do88 intercoolers deliver 13% higher airflow compared to the previous version, featuring a new, lighter air duct made from real prepreg carbon. While the core has been upgraded, the cast end tanks and accessories remain unchanged. These precision-designed end tanks distribute airflow evenly across the core, optimizing pressure drop and cooling efficiency. To accommodate the thicker core, a new upper ambient air guide was developed in a 3D-scanned environment, ensuring perfect fitment with vehicle-integrated air guides and the intercooler. The intercoolers feature 70 mm (2.75-inch) connections to eliminate bottlenecks and maximize airflow, complemented by new 3D-designed, CFD-tested hoses. High-temp material rated to 464°F is used for turbo outlet hoses, ensuring durability under extreme conditions. The carbon ducts include proper seals, directing all airflow through the core for maximum heat transfer efficiency. Despite their larger size and all-aluminum dense construction, the weight increase is modest—18.74lbs per intercooler compared to the OEM’s 6.83lbs. This weight difference is more than justified by the significant performance gains these intercoolers provide.

Performance

The do88 BigPack delivers a significant reduction in intake temperatures, showcasing superior performance compared to OEM 991 units. Data collected using an AIM race logger during five consecutive full-throttle runs (30-155 mph) in a Stage 1-tuned Porsche 991 demonstrated a peak temperature reduction of 30.6°F. The tests were conducted without cooldowns, with the car in Sport Plus mode and the AC off. Initial runs were performed with OEM intercoolers, followed by a quick swap to do88 intercoolers and identical runs after a brief shakedown. Extensive development, including refining end tank designs and selecting an optimized core, resulted in an intercooler that excels in both heat transfer and airflow efficiency. Verified on the in-house Superflow SF-1020 Probench as a complete system—including intercoolers, hoses, and Y-pipe—the do88 BigPack demonstrates unmatched performance and reliability.

Y-pipe

At the start of the development process for this product, considerable thought was given to determining the optimal design for a Y-pipe, resulting in a carefully engineered solution. The Y-pipe achieves excellent flow rates and low weight by combining mandrel-bent lightweight pipes with a high-quality, 3D freeform-designed cast joint. CNC-machined connections for the BOV and breather hoses are welded onto the cast section, ensuring both precision and durability.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest.
