CSF’s 992 Intercooler System is developed in partnership with Formula 1 cooling specialist PWR — as the world’s first and only high-performance intercooler upgrade for the Porsche 992. As power increases, so does heat, making an upgraded intercooler essential in turbo applications, particularly given the 992’s top-mounted layout; this bolt-on system addresses charge-air temperatures to sustain performance and reliability. In keeping with the 911’s “everyday supercar” legacy from 996 through 997, 991, and now 992, the CSF solution supports the platform’s ever-expanding capabilities on the street, track, and drag strip. With the 992 serving as one of the world’s most advanced tuning bases — from simple bolt-ons and ECU calibrations to built engines, larger turbos, and standalone management pushing well beyond 1,000 whp — robust intercooling is a foundational upgrade CSF recommends.

How the New Porsche 992 Intercooler System Works

JCR notes that, unlike previous water-cooled Turbo models that used individual side-mounted intercoolers behind the front-door ducts, the 992 relocates the intercooler assembly to the top of the engine bay. Fresh ambient air is drawn through redesigned ducts beneath the rear decklid, with scoops on each rear quarter feeding the inlet tanks on either side of the module. Heat exchange occurs as charge air passes through the cores while ambient air flows down through the cores from the top ducts and exits below the vehicle. The cooled charge air from both cores then merges in a single center-section outlet tank before entering the Y-pipe to the throttle body.

This upgrade is especially critical in high-boost and motorsport environments, where plastic tanks can fail under elevated pressure or vibration, while the welded aluminum design enhances strength, durability, and reliability.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest.
