CSF High-Performance Intercooler System for Audi RS Q8 / Lamborghini Urus / 9Y0 Porsche Cayenne [8211R]
CSF highlights the Lamborghini Urus as a standout in the performance SUV market, with its VAG sibling, the Audi RS Q8, close behind. The Urus has become Lamborghini’s best-selling model to date, blending supercar performance with four-door utility. Both vehicles share the same 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine found in the C8 Audi RS6 / RS7. In September 2021, CSF, in collaboration with its manufacturing partner PWR, launched the first dual high-performance intercooler kit for the C8 RS6 / RS7. With over 200 kits sold within nine months, the system has proven itself on Stage 2 vehicles with full bolt-on modifications exceeding 800hp and in builds surpassing 1,000hp. Recognizing the opportunity to bring the same performance to the VAG SUV platform, CSF is proud to announce the limited-edition release of the world’s first high-performance intercooler kit for the 2019+ Lamborghini Urus and 2020+ Audi RS Q8, SQ8, and SQ7. In partnership with Southern California’s VAG specialists Pacific German, CSF designed, developed, and tested the intercooler kit on Pacific German’s own Lamborghini Urus. Manufactured in the USA at PWR North America in Indianapolis, these CNC billet end-tank intercoolers incorporate Formula 1 cooling technology, continuing CSF’s mission to bring cutting-edge solutions to the performance aftermarket.
Design & Engineering
- CSF’s Urus / RS Q8 intercoolers are precisely designed to match the fit and function of the OEM units they replace. Using all factory mounting points, the intercoolers install seamlessly with a “drop-in fit” design, requiring no cutting, modifications, aftermarket shrouds, or hoses. All OEM components can be reused and reinstalled for a hassle-free upgrade. To enhance cooling efficiency, the intercoolers feature a thermal dispersion black finish. Once manufactured by PWR, the units are sent to a specialized aerospace company for a ceramic coating that increases heat dissipation by approximately 15% compared to non-coated parts. This coating not only improves performance but also provides a durable OEM-style stealth appearance, perfectly blending behind the Urus’s open front fascia.
OEM VS CSF by PWR
- CSF has incorporated the charge pipe directly into the design of the top end tank, utilizing a welded aluminum pipe to replace the factory bolt-on plastic component sealed with an inner O-ring. According to the head technician at Pacific German, the OEM O-rings may present a design flaw, as they have encountered multiple instances of failure on stock systems. This issue can lead to boost leaks and trigger a check engine light, an unexpected problem for such a new vehicle. Notably, the O-rings on Pacific German’s own Urus showed signs of deterioration after only a few thousand miles.
PWR Intercooler Core Technology
- The intercooler cores used in CSF’s Lamborghini Urus and Audi RS Q8 intercooler system are the same high-performance style proven in previous CSF air-to-air systems for the Audi RS6 / RS7, Porsche 992 Turbo / S, and 991 GT2RS, delivering exceptional results. These advanced cores eliminate heat soak and reduce intake air temperatures (IATs) far more efficiently than traditional bar-and-plate designs. This ensures maximum performance under demanding driving conditions and for vehicles with increased power levels from modifications and tuning. The 4.0L twin-turbo V8 in the Urus and RS Q8 is prone to significant heat soak and rising IATs with the OEM intercoolers, which leads to the ECU pulling engine timing and drastically reducing power output. The CSF by PWR intercoolers effectively address this issue, enabling consistent and prolonged peak performance. Performance gains are expected to align closely with results from the Audi C8 RS6 / RS7. During dyno testing of the CSF #8194 intercooler system, CSF recorded gains of 20 WHP and 18 WTQ with a stock tune, and 10 WHP and 20 WTQ with a high-performance tune. Additionally, IATs remained stable during repeated hard pulls, resulting in consistent dyno numbers.
CNC Machined Billet End Tanks
- As with other products developed through CSF’s partnership with PWR, the new Urus / RS Q8 intercoolers feature 100% TIG-welded, machined billet aluminum end tanks—a significant upgrade from the OEM crimped plastic composite end tanks. This design not only enhances aesthetics but also provides superior strength, ensuring greater longevity and durability for high-performance applications. The CNC-machined billet end tanks are built to withstand increased boost pressures from bolt-on modifications, high-performance tuning, and upgraded turbochargers.
Dyno Testing at Autowerks Asia
- Autowerks Asia, one of Thailand’s premier tuners, is behind some of the most impressive builds in Southeast Asia, including this “Stage 3” Lamborghini Urus. Equipped with upgraded TTE888 EA825 turbos, Supersprint downpipes, an Akrapovič exhaust, McChip DKR tuning, and CSF high-performance intercoolers, this Urus delivers exceptional performance. With the full Stage 3 package, it produces 836 WHP and 1,031 Nm (760 ft-lbs) of torque—a significant increase from the stock baseline of approximately 650 WHP and 825 Nm (608 ft-lbs). A standout feature of the CSF by PWR intercooler systems is their ability to combat heat soak and maintain consistent power and temperatures over extended runs. Testing on the RS6 intercoolers, which share similar core specifications with the Urus / RS Q8 coolers, demonstrated the stark contrast between CSF and OEM units. While OEM cooler performance deteriorates after several dyno pulls, CSF intercoolers maintain consistent performance from the first run to the fifth. This reliability is invaluable for track, drag, and high-performance road cars, ensuring no power loss due to heat soak.

About CSF
Back in 1947, a father and his three sons embarked on a business venture by setting up a small retail shop dealing in automotive parts. The family business blossomed over the years, evolving into an automotive garage specializing in radiator repair, and later, a radiator manufacturing facility. By 1975, the family-owned brand CSF was established, marking a milestone as the first to introduce import applications into the American automotive aftermarket, in line with the influx of Honda, Datsun, and Toyota vehicles. By 2009, the fourth generation of the CSF family joined the business, which had by then become a leading name in the import and domestic radiator and condenser markets, selling over 650,000 units that year despite an economic recession, and totaling over 35 million units to date. CSF’s portfolio expanded to include a diverse range of cooling systems, including commercial trucks, industrial and agricultural applications, marine coolers, intercoolers, pressure caps, and a pioneering Racing & High Performance Division. Today, CSF’s Racing & High Performance Division is renowned for designing and manufacturing advanced, efficient, and reliable cooling systems for a wide array of applications, from high performance all-aluminum direct-fit radiators to custom systems for racecars, power sports, off-road, marine, and industrial use. With over 50 years of experience and more than 40 million cooling systems sold worldwide, CSF has rightfully earned the industry title of “THE COOLING EXPERTS.”

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only.

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well.
For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario.
