The Accessport V3 by COBB Tuning is the world’s best-selling and most versatile ECU tuning solution, now available for the FL5 Honda Civic Type R and DE5 Acura Integra Type S. This device unlocks hidden power within the vehicle by replacing conservative factory settings with more aggressive calibrations. Users can benefit from included off-the-shelf (OTS) calibrations and the capability to custom-tune for most bolt-on modifications via Accesstuner Pro, making it the ultimate engine management solution. Beyond performance calibrations, the Accessport enables live monitoring, data logging, I/M Readiness and DTC viewing in the Troubleshooting Menu, and performance metric recording such as 0-60mph and 1/4 mile times.

With the AP3-HON-003 Accessport, users gain access to the fastest logging rate in the aftermarket Honda scene, with speeds up to 30hz depending on monitors, and the capability to log up to 50 monitors simultaneously. The device also supports live viewing of up to six data points with digital gauges on its high-resolution screen.

Auto-Logging on the COBB Accessport is a new feature designed to automatically begin a datalog as soon as the Accessport powers on, without the need for manual input. Once configured, data logging starts recording all parameters from the default log list, or from a custom list based on personal preferences or values requested by an authorized protuner. How It Works – Unlocking Your ECU

• Tuning a Honda Civic Type R (FL5) or Acura Integra Type S (DE5) is made simple with COBB Tuning’s Accessport, the all-inclusive tuning solution. When purchasing an Accessport, customers will receive a custom ECU box for sending their ECU to COBB HQ for unlocking. The package includes custom foam and an anti-static sleeve for safe transportation, along with a provided shipping label. Customers will uninstall their car’s ECU, pack it securely, and ship it using next-day air service both ways, minimizing downtime. With no additional hidden fees for unlocking or shipping, COBB Tuning ensures a fast and hassle-free tuning process for the Type R or Type S.

Off The Shelf Maps & Power Gains

• Included with the Accessport and also available for download on COBB Tuning’s website are COBB Off The Shelf Maps. These files are created by COBB’s Calibration Team for vehicles with otherwise stock configurations. Components such as replacement air filters for the stock airbox and exhaust parts that retain factory catalytic converters are compatible with these OTS Maps. The Stage0 file does not increase power, as it retains all factory calibration data, but allows users to utilize all other Accessport functions, including data monitoring and logging.
• COBB Tuning’s Stage 1 files are designed to maximize the untapped potential left by Honda. By increasing boost pressure and implementing more aggressive timing and fueling curves, these files deliver a substantial boost in both low-end torque and top-end power. COBB V3 Accessport Custom Features

• Launch Control:
  • COBB Tuning’s implementation of Launch Control goes beyond a basic secondary rev limiter, incorporating a combination of fuel and ignition cuts, dynamic rev limiting, and load targeting based on rear (undriven) wheel speed. This sophisticated setup ensures maximum repeatability in launch mechanics, allowing users to focus on fine-tuning vehicle configuration. The system automatically manages wheel slip using fuel and ignition cuts and controls target load (boost/torque) as the vehicle accelerates through first and second gears, provided these gears are linked via a flat foot shift. When using COBB Off-The-Shelf (OTS) Maps, users can expect to achieve 4-6psi of boost while stationary.
  • Six different Launch Control Rev Limit Slots can be configured in Accesstuner Pro and selected via the Accessport. Each slot has a specific starting RPM limit while the vehicle is stationary, which increases as the un-driven (rear) wheel speed rises post-launch. The table above demonstrates the behavior of each slot when using COBB OTS Maps.
  • In addition to the dynamic RPM Limit, COBB Tuning offers dynamic Load control based on un-driven wheel speed. This feature includes a tunable table within Accesstuner Pro and a user-adjustable scalar on the Accessport, allowing for precise customization to meet individual performance needs.
• Flat-Foot Shifting:
  • COBB Tuning offers a Fuel-Cut RPM Limiter that truly delivers reliable performance. Recognizing the issues with similar features on other platforms, COBB has made their system more robust. The Flat Foot Shifting system successfully keeps the throttle plate open and the bypass valve shut, maintaining positive boost pressure during shifts. In COBB’s OTS Maps, the FFS RPM Limit is set to a default of 5500 RPM and can be adjusted on the Accessport in increments of 50 RPM. For custom tunes, a Protuner can set the initial value in Accesstuner Pro.

• Burnout Mode:
  • Activating burnout mode with COBB Tuning is straightforward. Press and hold the ‘Cruise’ button on the car’s steering wheel while following the standard Launch Control steps. Holding the ‘Cruise’ button bypasses the Launch Control RPM limit, allowing wheel speed to increase rapidly, facilitating quicker and easier heat buildup. After completing a burnout, release the ‘Cruise’ button and proceed with the normal Launch Control steps. In COBB’s OTS Maps, the Burnout Mode Limit is set to 6000 RPM. While this limit is not adjustable on the Accessport, it can be configured in Accesstuner Pro by a Protuner.

• For those interested in custom tuning, COBB Tuning’s Accesstuner Pro software now supports these vehicles. Any of COBB Tuning’s Authorized Honda Protuners can create a custom calibration for use with the Accessport.

Notes

• Power gains over stock for the Integra Type S are somewhat lower compared to the Civic Type R, as the Integra Type S already benefits from an additional power boost in its stock configuration
