Does the Stage 2 Power Package for 8V Audi A3 fit front wheel drive models?

No, not on the current COBB application list. Although the COBB catalogue name mentions FWD and Quattro, the confirmed applications for this Package for 8V Audi A3 are 2015 to 2020 US market Quattro models with S Tronic. Front wheel drive owners should confirm fitment with Bulletproof Automotive first.

Is this Stage 2 kit legal to install in California?

Yes. COBB lists the package as legal for sale and use on emissions controlled vehicles in all 50 states under CARB Executive Order numbers D-660-40 and D-660-235, when installed as the COBB application guide directs. A CARB EO sticker ships in the box for the engine bay.

Do I need a separate tune to run the intercooler and filter?

No. The Accessport V3 in the box flashes COBB Off The Shelf calibrations, which COBB publishes for most bolt-on modifications. Owners who later go beyond the packaged parts can load a custom tune from a COBB protuner through the same handheld, so no second device is needed.

Will this package change how the S Tronic gearbox shifts?

No. The Accessport in this kit is the engine-only AP3-VLK-002 and does not flash the transmission control module. COBB sells a Stage 2 package with S Tronic flashing that adds gearbox maps and clutch service tools, and that is the version to choose if shift behavior matters.

What else does the Accessport do once the A3 is tuned?

It works as a gauge showing up to six live engine parameters and records up to 10 hours of datalogs. It also reads and clears trouble codes, stores up to 100 maps, times 0-60 and quarter mile runs, and adds a custom shift light, Launch Control and Flat Foot Shift.

Description

COBB Tuning Stage 2 Power Package for 8V Audi A3

COBB Tuning’s Stage 2 Power Package for 8V Audi A3 gathers an Accessport V3, an AMS Performance front mount intercooler, a COBB High Flow Filter and a COBB vehicle badge for the 2015 to 2020 Quattro S Tronic A3. The intercooler is what moves this kit past Stage 1, and the Accessport lets the ECU make use of it with COBB Off The Shelf maps or a custom file from a COBB tuner. CARB Executive Order coverage means the tuned car can still be registered in California. It suits an owner who already plans to modify and would rather buy the core hardware once; anyone who wants the gearbox flashed too should choose the S Tronic version.

About COBB Tuning

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. In 2004 COBB introduced the Accessport, a handheld ECU tuning device that flashes COBB’s off-the-shelf maps or a custom tune and doubles as a real-time gauge and datalogger. The range has since grown from Subaru to Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota platforms, with intakes, intercoolers, exhausts and flex fuel kits engineered alongside the tuning, and many COBB parts carry California Air Resources Board Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
