COBB Tuning’s No Intake FMIC Package gives the 2018-2023 S550 Mustang EcoBoost a Stage 2 calibration on the Accessport V3 and a larger front mount intercooler, and leaves the factory intake where Ford put it. COBB found heat soak, more than airflow, held the 2.3 liter engine back, and CARB EO D-660-149 covers road use in all 50 states. Choose it if the stock intake sound suits you or another intake is already planned.

Design and Performance

The COBB intercooler uses a larger core than the factory unit, with fins in the cast aluminum end tanks shaped through fluid dynamics analysis to spread air across the whole core. A 2.5 inch inlet, 3 inch outlet and 3 inch mandrel bent aluminum piping feed the throttle body. COBB reports charge temperatures falling by as much as 100 degrees with the setup, and the No Intake FMIC Package pairs that cooling with Off The Shelf maps written for it.

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse.
