Is the Stage 1+ Power Package NIS-006 legal in California?

Yes. COBB lists the Stage 1+ Power Package NIS-006 as legal for sale and use on emissions controlled vehicles in all 50 states under California Air Resources Board Executive Order D-660-133, provided it is installed and used according to the COBB application guide. A CARB EO sticker ships with the kit for the engine bay.

What comes in the box?

The kit contains the AP3-NIS-006 Accessport V3 with TCM flashing, the aluminum Big SF Intake System with its cone filters, couplers and clamps, and the CARB EO sticker for D-660-133. No fuel pump, ethanol sensor or CAN Gateway parts are included.

Does the intake need a tune to run?

Yes. The larger tubing changes how the MAF sensors read airflow, so the ECU must run a matching calibration. The included Accessport loads a COBB Big SF Off The Shelf map for supported GT-R models, and a COBB Protuner can write a custom map instead for cars with other modifications.

How does it differ from the Redline carbon version?

The Accessport, tubing diameter, filters and Big SF maps are shared, so the airflow purpose is the same. This kit uses mandrel bent aluminum tubing in wrinkle black powdercoat, while the Redline package swaps in hand-laid carbon fiber tubing at a higher price. The choice comes down to finish and budget.

Which R35 model years does it fit?

COBB confirms USDM GT-R cars from 2009 through 2014 and JDM cars from 2008 through 2013. ADM, East Asia, EDM, Gulf Spec and South Africa cars are covered from 2009 through 2013, along with Vspec and Vspec Race versions from the 2009 and 2010 model years. Later cars use the NIS-008 kits.

Description

COBB Tuning Stage 1+ Power Package NIS-006 with TCM Flashing for R35 Nissan GT-R

COBB Tuning’s Stage 1+ Power Package NIS-006 is the most direct way to tune an early R35 GT-R in California or anywhere else, because the pairing of the AP3-NIS-006 Accessport V3 and the aluminum Big SF Intake System carries CARB Executive Order D-660-133 for all 50 states. The Accessport rewrites the engine calibration and also reflashes the transmission control module. For a 2009-2014 car on pump fuel this covers most of what an owner needs; plans for E85 call for a CAN Flex Fuel package.

Intake and Calibration

The factory MAF sensors can run out of range as power rises. Widening the tubing to 3.0 inches lets each read lower for the same airflow. The Stage 1+ Power Package NIS-006 also gives the Accessport its transmission functions: enhanced launch control, factory gear learning and clutch capacity and touch point adjustment.

Features

Mandrel bent 3.0 inch aluminum tubing finished in wrinkle black powdercoat
Pre-oiled, cleanable and reusable custom K&N cone filter elements
Bolts in without cutting, trimming or removing the bumper skin or support
Accessport reads and clears engine trouble codes and doubles as a live gauge
Boost readout past 20 psi and a knock indicator on the factory display
Uninstall option returns the ECU to its original state

What’s Included

Accessport V3 with TCM Flashing (AP3-NIS-006)
Big SF Intake System (7C1150)
CARB EO Sticker (D-660-133)

Notes

50-state legal with CARB EO D-660-133 when used in accordance with the COBB application guide

COBB warns that installing the Accessport over anything other than factory or COBB software may result in ECU or TCU failure

About COBB Tuning

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. In 2004 COBB introduced the Accessport, a handheld ECU tuning device that flashes COBB’s off-the-shelf maps or a custom tune and doubles as a real-time gauge and datalogger. The range has since grown from Subaru to Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota platforms, with intakes, intercoolers, exhausts and flex fuel kits engineered alongside the tuning, and many COBB parts carry California Air Resources Board Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. In short, prices may change without notice. It is always advised to give us a call prior to placing your order online to confirm availability and to confirm current pricing.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
