Is the Stage 1+ Power Package NIS-005 legal in California?

Yes. The Stage 1+ Power Package NIS-005 holds California Air Resources Board Executive Order D-660-133, so COBB lists it as legal for sale and use on emissions controlled vehicles in all 50 states when installed according to its application guide. A CARB EO sticker ships with the package for the engine bay.

Do I need a tuner to install this package?

No. The Accessport walks you through installation on screen, identifies the car and offers the COBB Off The Shelf maps suited to it, so no tuner visit is required for the stock turbo setup. A COBB Protuner can still supply a custom calibration later if you add further modifications.

Can the car be put back to stock?

Yes. The Uninstall option on the Accessport main menu restores the ECU to exactly the state it was in before flashing, and the factory intake parts can be refitted if the Big SF is removed. That makes the package a reasonable choice for an owner who may sell the car or visit a dealer.

Does this package support E85 or flex fuel?

No. This package contains only the Accessport V3 and the aluminum Big SF intake, with no ethanol sensor, CAN Gateway or fuel pump. COBB sells separate CAN Flex Fuel packages for the same GT-R years, and an upgrade kit that adds the flex fuel hardware to an existing Stage 1+ car.

Which GT-R years does it cover?

COBB confirms the USDM R35 GT-R from 2009 through 2014, along with JDM cars from 2008 through 2013 and ADM, East Asia, EDM, Gulf Spec and South Africa cars from 2009 through 2013. Vspec and Vspec Race models from 2009 and 2010 are also on the list. Newer cars use the NIS-007 based packages.

Description

COBB Tuning Stage 1+ Power Package NIS-005 for R35 Nissan GT-R

COBB Tuning’s Stage 1+ Power Package NIS-005 is the simplest legal route to more performance from a 2009-2014 R35 GT-R: the AP3-NIS-005 Accessport V3 and the aluminum Big SF Intake System, sold together under CARB EO D-660-133 for all 50 states. The intake opens up the induction path, and the Accessport loads calibration written for that hardware. It is the right buy for a GT-R that will stay on gasoline and the factory turbos. Anyone planning on E85 should start with a CAN Flex Fuel package instead.

Design and Performance

The Big SF replaces the restrictive factory inlet path with mandrel bent 3.0 inch aluminum tubing in a wrinkle black powdercoat, fed by custom K&N cone filters. Its wider bore lets the factory MAF sensors keep reading accurately as flow rises, which is why the Stage 1+ Power Package NIS-005 pairs it with an Accessport rather than selling it to run on the factory map.

Features

3-ply steel reinforced silicone couplers; no cutting or trimming during installation
Stores up to 100 maps with on-the-fly switching where the calibration enables it
Records multiple data channels with up to 10 hours of datalog storage
Reads and clears engine trouble codes
Knock indicator and a boost gauge reading beyond 20 psi on the Multi-Function Display
Performance timer for 0-60 mph, 60 foot, quarter mile and trap speed
Made in the USA

About COBB Tuning

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. In 2004 COBB introduced the Accessport, a handheld ECU tuning device that flashes COBB’s off-the-shelf maps or a custom tune and doubles as a real-time gauge and datalogger. The range has since grown from Subaru to Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota platforms, with intakes, intercoolers, exhausts and flex fuel kits engineered alongside the tuning, and many COBB parts carry California Air Resources Board Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. In short, prices may change without notice. It is always advised to give us a call prior to placing your order online to confirm availability and to confirm current pricing.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
