What parts are in the Package with Black Intercooler?

The Package with Black Intercooler includes the BMW Accessport V3, part AP3-BMW-002, the CSF N54/N55 front mount intercooler in black, part CSF8127-BK, the COBB High Flow Filter, part 7B1110, and a COBB badge. COBB states that everything needed to install the intercooler comes in the box.

Does the intercooler require cutting the front bumper?

No. COBB describes the CSF front mount intercooler in this package as a direct replacement for the factory unit that requires no bumper modifications. The parts needed to install it are supplied, so the job is a remove and replace task on the 2011 135i and 335i rather than a fabrication project for the installer.

Is the Stage 1+ package legal for street use in California?

Yes. The package is covered by CARB Executive Order D-660-7, which COBB lists as making it legal for sale and use on emissions-controlled vehicles in all 50 states, provided it is installed according to the COBB application guide. California owners are included.

Why does COBB put an intercooler in a Stage 1+ package for the N55?

COBB notes that while most turbocharged engines want freer airflow first, the N55 gains more from cooler, denser intake air. An upgraded front mount intercooler lowers charge temperature, which helps the engine deliver power more consistently, and the Accessport maps suit that hardware.

What is the difference between the black and silver versions?

The two packages share the same Accessport V3, High Flow Filter, CARB EO and fitment. The only difference is the finish of the CSF front mount intercooler: this listing carries the black core, part CSF8127-BK, while the silver version ships with CSF8127-SL. Pick black if you prefer the intercooler to stay discreet behind the front grille.

Description

COBB Tuning Stage 1+ Power Package with Black Intercooler for N55 BMW 135i / 335i

COBB Tuning’s Stage 1+ Power Package with Black Intercooler gives the 2011 N55 BMW 135i and 335i three upgrades at once: the BMW Accessport V3, the COBB High Flow Filter and a CSF front mount intercooler (CSF8127-BK) finished in black. COBB built it around the way the N55 rewards cooler, denser charge air. The intercooler goes in as a direct replacement with no bumper modifications, and CARB EO D-660-7 keeps the whole package street legal in every state. It suits an owner chasing consistent power through repeated hard pulls.

Design and Performance

Most turbocharged engines see their first gains from opening up the intake, but COBB found the N55 benefits more from lowering intake air temperature. The CSF front mount intercooler handles that job, replacing the factory unit with everything needed for installation supplied. With maps for this hardware already on the Accessport, the Package with Black Intercooler is tuned once installed.

About COBB Tuning

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. In 2004 COBB introduced the Accessport, a handheld ECU tuning device that flashes COBB’s off-the-shelf maps or a custom tune and doubles as a real-time gauge and datalogger. The range has since grown from Subaru to Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota platforms, with intakes, intercoolers, exhausts and flex fuel kits engineered alongside the tuning, and many COBB parts carry California Air Resources Board Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. In short, prices may change without notice. It is always advised to give us a call prior to placing your order online to confirm availability and to confirm current pricing.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
