Which Evolution X models does the COBB Tuning Quad-Tip Cat-Back Exhaust for CZ4A fit?

COBB confirms the Quad-Tip Cat-Back Exhaust for CZ4A cars on USDM Evolution X models from 2008 and 2010 through 2015. That covers the manual GSR and Final Edition plus the automatic GSR SE, MR and MRT. Cars built for other markets are not on the list, so contact us first.

Do I need a tune after installing this exhaust?

No. COBB designed the system as a direct replacement for the factory cat-back and does not list a tune as a requirement. The 3 inch tubing and straight-through muffler flow more freely than stock, and owners often add an Accessport map or custom tune once other parts follow.

Will it bolt to the COBB High Flow Cat Pipe?

Yes. COBB states that the exhaust works with both the factory cat pipe and the COBB High Flow Cat Pipe for the Evolution X, so the cat-back can go on first and the cat pipe later. COBB does not confirm fit with cat pipes from other brands.

Will the exhaust scrape on a lowered Evolution X?

COBB spent extra development time routing the system for as much ground clearance as possible, specifically for cars at very low ride heights, and it hangs from the stock mounting points. Clearance on a given car still depends on its suspension, ride height and the roads it sees.

What is the system made from?

The system is 304 stainless steel with 2.5 inch and 3 inch tubing sections, TIG welded throughout. It runs a custom straight-through muffler and finishes in four polished tips. This grade of stainless resists corrosion well, which matters for a part living under the car through salted winters.

Description

COBB Tuning Quad-Tip Cat-Back Exhaust for CZ4A Mitsubishi Evolution X

COBB Tuning’s Quad-Tip Cat-Back Exhaust for CZ4A Evolution X owners replaces everything behind the cat pipe with 304 stainless tubing that steps up to 3 inches, a custom straight-through muffler and four polished tips. It hangs on the stock mounts, and it makes the most sense on a car that already sits low, since COBB worked hard to tuck it up. Owners who want a quiet, stock-like tone should keep the factory system; this one was built to be heard.

Design and Packaging

COBB treated packaging as the main problem on this chassis. Tubing grew to 3 inches, bends were kept few and given large radii, and the routing was reworked for the most ground clearance the floor allows. That is why the Quad-Tip Cat-Back Exhaust for CZ4A cars works on very low Evolution X builds, and it reuses every factory mounting point.

Features

2.5 inch and 3 inch 304 stainless steel construction
Custom straight-through high flow muffler
Four polished tips in the factory quad outlet layout
TIG welded throughout
Minimal bends with large radii for flow
Routed for maximum ground clearance on lowered cars
Direct replacement for the factory cat-back, using all stock mounting points
Works with the factory cat pipe or the COBB High Flow Cat Pipe

About COBB Tuning

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. In 2004 COBB introduced the Accessport, a handheld ECU tuning device that flashes COBB’s off-the-shelf maps or a custom tune and doubles as a real-time gauge and datalogger. The range has since grown from Subaru to Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota platforms, with intakes, intercoolers, exhausts and flex fuel kits engineered alongside the tuning, and many COBB parts carry California Air Resources Board Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
