Is the package with the SF Intake and Silver Intercooler legal in California?

Yes. COBB lists CARB Executive Order D-660-172 for this package, making it legal for sale and use on emissions controlled vehicles in all 50 states when installed according to the COBB application guide. Keep the EO number with the vehicle paperwork for inspections.

Does it work on the CVT WRX?

Yes. COBB confirms manual and CVT WRX sedans from 2015 to 2021. CVT cars do not get launch control or flat foot shifting; COBB offers a Launch Mode instead, which manipulates factory torque limiters and needs Accesstuner software to dial it in.

Yes. The NexGen Stage 2 Power Package with SF Intake and Silver Intercooler includes an Accessport V3, part AP3-SUB-004, which flashes COBB calibrations and works as a gauge display. The SF Intake runs on COBB off the shelf maps marked +SF in the Accessport firmware.

Why does the package include a charge pipe kit?

COBB states that its Charge Pipe Kit is required to install the top mount intercooler on the 2015-2021 WRX, so it is bundled here. Reinforced silicone couplers supplied with the intercooler then complete the path from turbocharger to throttle body.

Is a top mount intercooler a good choice for a bigger turbo?

No. COBB positions this intercooler for cars that want more airflow and cooling without supporting a large upgraded turbocharger. A front mount offers more total cooling capacity at some cost in transient response, so a larger turbo build is better served by a front mount kit.

Description

COBB Tuning NexGen Stage 2 Power Package with SF Intake and Silver Intercooler for VA Subaru WRX

COBB Tuning’s NexGen Stage 2 Power Package with SF Intake and Silver Intercooler gives the 2015-2021 WRX more airflow and cooler charge air while staying legal in all 50 states under CARB EO D-660-172. The centerpiece is a top mount intercooler with a 15.75 x 9.65 x 3.94 in Garrett core and cast aluminum end tanks, which COBB calls the largest core available for this engine. An Accessport V3, the SF Intake, charge pipes and a 3-port boost control solenoid complete it, for manual and CVT cars alike. It suits a factory turbo; a big turbo build will outgrow a top mount.

Thrust Tunnel ducting from the hood scoop and a heavy duty passenger side bracket

About COBB Tuning

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. In 2004 COBB introduced the Accessport, a handheld ECU tuning device that flashes COBB’s off-the-shelf maps or a custom tune and doubles as a real-time gauge and datalogger. The range has since grown from Subaru to Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota platforms, with intakes, intercoolers, exhausts and flex fuel kits engineered alongside the tuning, and many COBB parts carry California Air Resources Board Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
