COBB Tuning Catted Downpipe for BL / BP Subaru Legacy & Outback XT

The COBB Tuning GESi Catted 3″ Downpipe commences with a CAD-designed cast bellmouth, ensuring a smooth blend of air exiting the turbocharger’s turbine housing. This design minimizes turbulence, particularly when exhaust gases from the wastegate merge with those flowing through the turbine, thereby preventing excessive back pressure. The cast housing is adorned with a COBB logo and auxiliary O2 bung, providing an option for early installation of a wideband sensor in the exhaust path. A welded bracket utilizes the factory hard mount near the transmission, reducing stress on the turbocharger mounting bolts and studs. Constructed from corrosion-resistant and mandrel-bent 3″ 304 stainless steel tubing, the exhaust gases are directed downstream into a COBB-exclusive GESi 300-cell high-flow catalytic converter. Positioned directly after the catalytic converter is a second O2 bung, intended for use by the OEM rear O2 sensor. The tail section of the downpipe is finished with a CAD-designed, cast 304 stainless steel flange, reinforced to minimize warping during assembly. Additionally, a stainless adapter flange and included MLS gasket facilitate direct fitment with the factory exhaust or COBB cat-back exhaust utilizing the OEM donut gasket. COBB’s proprietary shoulder nuts are included, ensuring hassle-free installation of the factory spring bolts.
