What does TCM flashing add over the standard GT-R Accessport?

TCM flashing lets the Accessport reflash the transmission control module as well as the engine. COBB lists enhanced launch control, factory gear learning, clutch touch point and clutch torque capacity adjustment, and transmission data logging. None of these are available on AP3-NIS-005, the engine-only version for the same 2008 to 2014 GT-R models.

Which cars does the Accessport V3 NIS-006 for R35 models fit?

COBB confirms the Accessport V3 NIS-006 for R35 USDM GT-R models from 2009 through 2014, 2008 to 2013 JDM cars including Vspec and NISMO listings, and 2009 to 2013 cars sold in Europe, Australia, the Gulf, East Asia and South Africa. Later cars, including non-US 2014 models, use AP3-NIS-008.

Can it run clutch gear learning?

Yes. Clutch gear learning can be run directly from the Accessport, and clutch touch points and clutch torque capacities can be adjusted with the same device. Transmission monitors can also be logged alongside engine monitors, which COBB describes as useful for diagnosing mechanical issues or improving how the transmission behaves.

Yes. COBB lists CARB Executive Order D-660-134 for this TCM Flashing Accessport, making it legal for sale and use on emissions controlled vehicles in all 50 states, including California, when it is used according to the COBB application guide for the R35 GT-R.

Can it be installed on a GT-R with another tune already loaded?

No. COBB warns that installing this Accessport over anything other than factory or COBB software may result in ECU or TCU failure. A GT-R running another tuning platform should be back on factory software before installation, and COBB Support can answer questions first.

Description

COBB Tuning Accessport V3 NIS-006 for R35 Nissan GT-R with TCM Flashing

COBB Tuning’s Accessport V3 NIS-006 for R35 Nissan GT-R models flashes both the engine control unit and the transmission control module on cars from the 2008 JDM debut through the 2014 USDM year. That second capability is the reason to choose it, opening clutch adjustments and a higher factory launch RPM. CARB Executive Order D-660-134 covers it in all 50 states. For an early GT-R making more power, or one that has had transmission work, it is the more complete tool; a car on a mild engine map alone may not need it.

Transmission Control

The Accessport V3 NIS-006 for R35 cars reflashes the transmission control module to enhance launch control, perform factory gear learning and change clutch capacity and touch points. Clutch gear learning can be run from the handheld, and transmission monitors can be logged at the same time as engine monitors to diagnose mechanical issues or refine how the gearbox behaves. Engine tuning follows the staged Off The Shelf path or a custom map from a COBB tuner.

About COBB Tuning

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. In 2004 COBB introduced the Accessport, a handheld ECU tuning device that flashes COBB’s off-the-shelf maps or a custom tune and doubles as a real-time gauge and datalogger. The range has since grown from Subaru to Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota platforms, with intakes, intercoolers, exhausts and flex fuel kits engineered alongside the tuning, and many COBB parts carry California Air Resources Board Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
