Which GT-R model years does the Accessport V3 NIS-005 for R35 cars fit?

COBB confirms the Accessport V3 NIS-005 for R35 models from 2009 through 2014 in USDM form, plus 2008 to 2013 JDM cars and 2009 to 2013 cars sold in Europe, Australia, the Gulf, East Asia and South Africa, including Vspec versions. Non-US 2014 cars and every 2015 or newer GT-R are covered by AP3-NIS-007 instead.

Does this Accessport reflash the transmission?

No. This version flashes the engine control unit only. Reflashing the transmission control module, adjusting clutch touch points and torque capacity, logging transmission data and raising the factory launch control RPM are reserved for AP3-NIS-006, the TCM Flashing version for the same model years.

Is it legal to use in California?

Yes. COBB lists California Air Resources Board Executive Order D-660-134 for this Accessport, which permits sale and use on emissions controlled vehicles in all 50 states, including California, when it is installed and used according to the COBB application guide for the early R35 GT-R.

Can the GT-R be returned to stock?

Yes. The Uninstall option in the main menu reverts the ECU to exactly the state it was in before the Accessport was installed, which is useful before a dealer visit or before selling the car. COBB Support can help with questions before installation.

Does it need extra gauges to watch boost and knock?

No. The Accessport reads live data directly from the ECU and can display up to six parameters at once on its color screen. On the GT-R it also adds a boost gauge that wraps around past the 20 psi limit of the factory Multi-Function Display and shows knock events on that factory display in real time.

Description

COBB Tuning Accessport V3 NIS-005 for R35 Nissan GT-R

COBB Tuning’s Accessport V3 NIS-005 for R35 Nissan GT-R owners covers the earlier cars, from the 2008 JDM launch through the 2014 USDM model year, and flashes the engine control unit only. It carries CARB Executive Order D-660-134 for use in all 50 states. For a GT-R on stock or bolt-on hardware running an Off The Shelf map, this is the sensible starting point. Owners who want to reflash the dual-clutch gearbox or raise the factory launch RPM should look at AP3-NIS-006 instead.

Tuning and Support

The Accessport V3 NIS-005 for R35 cars replaces conservative factory settings with COBB’s staged Off The Shelf maps, or loads a custom calibration from a COBB tuner for any modification level. Speed density tuning lets the engine run from the MAP sensor once airflow outgrows the stock MAF, and realtime tuning accepts changes with the engine running. COBB Fast ECU Flashing cuts a map change to 40 seconds or less, and Bank Air Learn rebalances airflow between the left and right intake manifolds.

Features

Large, full color, higher resolution screen that monitors up to six parameters in real time
In-vehicle mount with on/off switch
Stores up to 100 maps, with on-the-fly map switching while driving
Multi-channel datalogging with up to 10 hours of storage
Reads and clears engine trouble codes; uninstall returns the ECU to its original state

Applications

Nissan GT-R: R35 | 2009-2014 | USDM
Nissan GT-R: R35 | 2008-2013 | JDM
Nissan GT-R: R35 | 2009-2013 | EDM, ADM, Gulf Spec, East Asia, South Africa
Nissan GT-R NISMO: R35 | 2011-2013 | JDM
Nissan GT-R Vspec: R35 | 2009-2010 | JDM, EDM, Gulf Spec

Notes

50-state legal with CARB EO D-660-134
Flashes the ECU only; TCM flashing, TCM logging and adjustable launch control require AP3-NIS-006
2014 GT-R models sold outside the US use AP3-NIS-007
Adjustable traction control, Boost Off The Line and Rolling Boost must be enabled in the ECU calibration
COBB warns that installing this Accessport over anything other than factory or COBB software may result in ECU or TCU failure

About COBB Tuning

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. In 2004 COBB introduced the Accessport, a handheld ECU tuning device that flashes COBB’s off-the-shelf maps or a custom tune and doubles as a real-time gauge and datalogger. The range has since grown from Subaru to Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota platforms, with intakes, intercoolers, exhausts and flex fuel kits engineered alongside the tuning, and many COBB parts carry California Air Resources Board Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. In short, prices may change without notice. It is always advised to give us a call prior to placing your order online to confirm availability and to confirm current pricing.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
