Does the Accessport V3 for 991.1 Turbo models also tune the PDK?

No. This part number flashes the engine control unit and leaves the factory transmission calibration untouched. COBB sells a separate version, AP3-POR-006-PDK, for owners of the 2014 to 2016 Turbo and Turbo S who want transmission calibrations loaded alongside the engine maps from the same handheld.

Is this Accessport legal in California?

Yes. COBB lists CARB Executive Order numbers D-660-70 and D-660-91 for the Accessport V3 for 991.1 Turbo and Turbo S models. That allows sale and use on emissions controlled vehicles in all 50 states, provided the device is used in accordance with the COBB application guide.

Which model years and trims does it cover?

COBB confirms the 911 Turbo and the 911 Turbo S of the 991.1 generation for the 2014, 2015 and 2016 model years, all with the PDK gearbox. The later 991.2 Turbo, Turbo S and GT2 RS are not on this list and take a different Accessport, COBB part AP3-POR-012.

Can the car be returned to factory settings?

Yes. COBB states that the Uninstall option in the Accessport main menu reverts the ECU to exactly the state it was in before installation. Running it before a dealer software update or before selling the car is good practice, and the maps stored on the handheld remain available afterward.

What can the Accessport display while driving?

Up to six live parameters at once on a full color screen, arranged as a race, street or dyno gauge layout, including boost or any other live ECU value. It also logs multiple channels for up to 10 hours, times 0-60 mph, 60 foot and quarter mile runs, and runs a shift light at a chosen RPM.

Description

COBB Tuning Accessport V3 for 991.1 Porsche 911 Turbo / Turbo S

COBB Tuning’s Accessport V3 for 991.1 Turbo and Turbo S models swaps the conservative factory engine calibration on 2014 to 2016 cars for COBB maps, then stays in the cabin as a six-parameter gauge display and datalogger. CARB Executive Orders D-660-70 and D-660-91 cover it for road use in all 50 states. This part number flashes the engine control unit only. For revised PDK behavior as well, COBB part AP3-POR-006-PDK adds transmission calibrations; an owner happy with factory shifting needs only this unit.

Tuning and Support

Off-the-shelf maps from COBB cover most bolt-on modifications, so the Accessport V3 for 991.1 Turbo models can follow the car as parts are added. A custom file from a COBB tuner is the other path, and up to 100 maps stay on board. AP Manager, free software for PC or Mac, handles firmware updates, map management and datalog downloads. COBB states that the Uninstall option in the main menu reverts the ECU to exactly the state it was in before the device was installed.

Porsche 911 Turbo S: 991.1 | 2014-2016 | PDK

Notes

50-state legal with CARB EO D-660-70 and D-660-91
Flashes the engine control unit only; PDK transmission calibrations need COBB part AP3-POR-006-PDK
Does not fit the 991.2 Turbo, Turbo S or GT2 RS, which use COBB part AP3-POR-012
Flashing this Accessport onto an ECU running anything other than factory Porsche or COBB software risks ECU or TCU failure

About COBB Tuning

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. In 2004 COBB introduced the Accessport, a handheld ECU tuning device that flashes COBB’s off-the-shelf maps or a custom tune and doubles as a real-time gauge and datalogger. The range has since grown from Subaru to Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota platforms, with intakes, intercoolers, exhausts and flex fuel kits engineered alongside the tuning, and many COBB parts carry California Air Resources Board Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. In short, prices may change without notice. It is always advised to give us a call prior to placing your order online to confirm availability and to confirm current pricing.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
