COBB Tuning’s 3 Inch Stainless Steel Downpipe for the Mitsubishi Evolution X and Lancer Ralliart widens the path out of the turbo to a full 3 inches, using mandrel bent 304 stainless tubing with as few bends as the chassis allows. It carries CARB EO D-660-117, so owners in every state can fit it without giving up a smog check. It suits an owner building the exhaust in stages; expect the most from it once the tune is matched to the new hardware.

Design and Sealing

Up front, a bespoke cast 3 inch flat flange gives a true mating surface against the factory style O2 housing. At the back, the 3 Inch Stainless Steel Downpipe keeps the stock donut gasket and factory spring bolts, which lets the system flex with the engine and, according to COBB, seals better and runs quieter than other joint designs.

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse.
