Capristo’s Valved Exhaust for Ferrari 308 GTB and GTS brings modern, on-demand voice control to one of Maranello’s most loved V8s without asking the owner to give up originality. Hand-built at Capristo’s factory in Sundern, Germany from aerospace-grade T309 (1.4828) stainless steel, the system fits carbureted, European-specification cars and adds a proprietary Capristo valve system the 308 never had from the factory. Closed, the exhaust keeps the manners a classic Ferrari deserves in town; opened through the included control module, the 2.9-liter V8 delivers the hard-edged, mechanical song that made the 308 famous. Valve Control

Because the 308 has no factory valve hardware, Capristo includes its own proprietary control module, the CES3 system with the EVCU1 controller, so the driver can open and close the exhaust at will. The system ships with the CES3 / EVCU1 installation and user manual, giving a complete, self-contained valve solution rather than a bolt-on pipe that relies on the car’s nonexistent factory electronics.

Construction

Every section is developed with 3D laser scanning and CAD, CNC-bent and milled, then TIG-welded and hand-polished to a mirror finish in high-grade T309 (1.4828) stainless steel. Capristo’s patented reinforced design suppresses drone and resonance, which matters in a mid-engine classic where the engine sits just behind the cabin.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest.
