Capristo Heat-Protected OPF Race Downpipes for F152M Ferrari 812 Superfast, GTS, and Competizione

The Capristo Ferrari 812 race downpipes free up the naturally aspirated 6.5L V12, one of the last great front-engine Ferrari twelve-cylinders, from the flow restriction the factory OPF-era catalytic section places on it. Built for the 812 Superfast, 812 GTS, and 812 Competizione, they address the F140 V12 at the point where the factory system holds it back most on track. Capristo manufactures the downpipes at its own factory in Sundern, Germany using 3D laser-scanning, CAD design, digital prototyping, and CNC bending and milling, then manually TIG welds every joint and hand polishes the finished piece to a mirror finish. Construction is highest-grade T309 stainless steel, which Capristo notes shares resonance properties with Inconel, the alloy Formula 1 exhaust systems are built from, with premium catalytic substrates built for flow. Each downpipe is wrapped in hand-crafted heat-resistant metal jackets to cut engine bay temperatures, and the downpipes are compatible with either the factory mid pipes or Capristo’s own mid pipe options.

Capristo has built exhaust systems out of its own factory in Sundern, Germany since 1990, starting with systems for Ferrari and other exotic manufacturers before expanding into BMW M and other high-performance platforms. Every system is designed in-house using 3D laser-scanning, CAD modeling, digital prototyping, and CNC bending and milling, then hand TIG welded and polished by Capristo’s own craftsmen rather than outsourced to a third-party fabricator. Capristo builds exclusively from T309 stainless steel, a grade chosen for its heat resistance and long service life under repeated thermal cycling, and backs it with a patented reinforced design aimed at eliminating resonance rather than masking it. The result is a company that still manufactures everything at one factory, under one roof, the same way it did on its first exotic-car systems more than three decades ago.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do.
