Each wheel is a 1-piece monoblock forged from AZ80 magnesium alloy and treated with a micro-arc oxidation coating for corrosion resistance, coming in 30% lighter than forged aluminum by volume and starting from 15.2lbs (6.9kg). On platforms where unsprung weight directly affects acceleration, braking, and cornering response, that reduction shows up in driving feel before it shows up on a spec sheet. AZ80 magnesium also carries 12% greater specific strength than aluminum and delivers significantly higher dampening capacity, which translates into sharper handling response and a more composed ride under hard use.
