The 2-piece die forged aluminum wheel features titanium fasteners and incorporates BBS’s patented milling within the open spoke area. Its weight has been skillfully optimized through the application of FEM analysis.
In 1970, two motor racing enthusiasts from Schiltach in Germany’s Black Forest region – Heinrich Baumgartner and Klaus Brand – established BBS. Initially they focused on fabricating lightweight fiberglass body pieces to give their cars an advantage on the racetrack. To reduce unsprung weight even further, they then developed a unique three-piece race wheel which quickly gained attention among professional teams like BMW Motorsports leading to rapid expansion of the company. In 1983 came out with their iconic 3 piece ‘RS’ design–it has been one of most sought after wheels within its industry ever since . Adopting technological advancements derived from motorsport events is at heart of what defines BBS’s mission statement “Technology through Motorsport”.
BBS offers an extensive array of modern wheel rims for a wide range of vehicles, from cars to trucks and SUVs. Their selection includes the BBS Forged Line with single-piece or double-piece casted models; their Performance Line featuring one piece in addition to dual structure Flow Forming varieties; as well as Design Lines low pressure casting disks.
Having its roots in the Black Forest of Germany, BBS has come a long way. They are now making their mark on an international scale and they have been able to create, assess and produce all aspects related to their products or services without relying upon external assistance. Every step is done within BBS itself.
